I have Wilson's Disease. I was diagnosed at age 21. I took Galzin with TTM for 6 months and have been taking it alone ever since. There are only two cons: having to take it on an empty stomach for ultimate effectiveness and price. This drug is not affordable. As far as I can tell, the drug works and is keeping me from dying of liver toxicity. The stomach pain I get is the same that I get from feeling hungry, so it's ignorable.
I have been on Galzin for over a decade to manage my WD and block excess copper. Overall my tests had always come back normal while on Galzin, but I could not stand taking Galzin in the morning on an empty stomach. With suggestion from my doctor, I had taken sandwich meat to help reduce some of the nausea, but it is recommended that you take Galzin on an empty stomach so that you can maximize absorption. Three months ago, I had tried Gluzin. Gluzin seems to gives me less irritation.
My daughter and I both suffer from WD. We had taken Galzin for more than 5 years to block our copper. For a year now, we had switch over to Gluzin because Galzin had caused too much upset stomach irritation, nausea and vomitting. My daughter also had hard time swallowing, so she is now using 25 mg Gluzin, which comes in smaller capsule size. Our test has both come back normal. One other problem is Galzin's price - it is really HIGH, especially if you do not have insurance. And also availability. We were unable to order the Galzin.
I take it immediately after eating so it does not upset my stomach. Good price
with the added help of TTM my copper levels are completely normal, altho im much worse than most(MASSIVE DAMAGE FROM DYSTONIA)
After 6 mos. of treatment, dosage has caused allergic reaction. Lack of taste, itching and numbness of the mouth have occured.
I have IBS and this drug upsets things. I take it immediately after meals and it seems to be working.
Well, I often suffer from nausea and stomach ache after consuming this capsule.. but it has been effective in treating my illness.
Taking seperated from food is the only drawback.Better than the alternatives
