Levsin Drug and Medication User Reviews

pain spasm of the penis due to calcification and strictures of the prostate

I use this medication to reduce abdominal cramps and diahhrea since I contracted C Diff in 2012. It is usually effective in reducing both, but not always.

I never leave without this med in my purse. i use as needed for esophagitis and gastritis

This is my fourth day using this medication for IBS. Experienced nervousness, dizziness and difficulty sleeping. I hoping that these side effects will subside soon. Did help with the spasms. Had to take with Ativan for the anxiety,

Helps quite quickly when a cramping attack starts...I suffer from Crohns.

I had IBS after a colon resection. Levsin almost immediately removed the symptoms with no side affects whatsoever. Only problem is that Medicare won't pay for it for seniors.

I've suffered from having IBS with diarrhea for years...When I was prescribed this I started taking it before and after meals and it really works. My only complaints is that it makes my mouth dry and it can constipate you. But for me, I'd take constipation over diarrhea any day.

had bad,bad stomach ache,Dr.prescribed this and after 2 nights of awful nightmares and sleepless 2 nights I give up.

I've had IBS for years now. I just took OTC's like Imodium to help, but when I was starting to become awakened in the middle of the night feeling like my insides were being twisted every which way I decided to see my doctor. This is the second medication I have tried for IBS as the first made me nauseous and had an awful taste. The only side effect I notice from this is dry mouth which can sometimes be annoying so I only take it when needed. Luckily, it works pretty darn fast for me!

Does not relieve the severe cramping from IBS-C quick enough. Usually have to pair this with 2 to 4 mgs Xanax and at least 2 Tylenol when I have the IBS attacks.

My pain started in middle of pregnancy in 2003, swore it was gallbladder. All tests normal.Continued to suffer for years, always told it was IBS. Went to specialist in S.F. and told sludge in gallbladder, said thats normal too. So frustrated. Went to Urgent Care and doc there said sludge isnt normal and the spasms I am feeling are from gallbladder or sphincter of oddi. Constant pressure like a corset and radiating back pain at the braline, this is not IBS. IBS is a crap diagnoses. Research Sprincter of Oddi. The levsin is a miracle. I take every 4 hours and can literally feel the sphincter relax about 20 minutes after taking and can usually tell when its time to take another. My pain is up high under the right ribs and at times even gives me chest pain. The back pain is horrible andfeels like my back is broken all the time. If you have been told IBS please research more.

It made my mouth a little dry, but it took away my stomach discomfort within 1-2 minutes of taking it.

I have upper and lower stomach pain.I had my gll bladder removed in March5,2011.And I was still having the same pain,no kidney stones were on my cat scan of my stomach.

Have taken Hyomax (sp) for several years and it has worked well. Usually one dose of two pills under the tongue and I'm done. Have doubled the dose on occasion when needed. I chew gum afterwards and the drug works quickly. My attacks usually occur when I get overheated but I've never noticed any side effects.

When I first got diagnosed with IBS back in 1997, the doctor gave me Levsin. All it did was make me drowsy and cause me to lose my appetite and I'm pretty sure it made my condition worse at the time. They then switched me to Donnatal and it was the same, so I no longer take anything for it and my attacks are less frequent. I just avoid the foods that make me sick.

It slows down my intestines, diarrhea slows down, helps with cramps, enables me to leave my home to go places, shopping, errands, etc.

I get severe vertigo caused by Multiple Sclerosis. It has been so bad that all I could do was lay in bed without even turning my head, otherwise I would vomit. Nothing helped. One of my neurologists decided to try Levsin sublingual and it helps a great deal. Only side effect for me is that it dries everything out, eyes, mouth, etc... This is an off label use, and not known about by most doctors.
