Cytomel Drug and Medication User Reviews

Cytomel (37.5 mcg.) was prescribed by my wonderful psychiatrist as an additional medication to help with my depression. It was a miracle drug for me and helped very quickly, even with some tolerable side effects.

Palpitation's even at small 5mcg dose. I would use Taurine to off set palps.. ITCHY PIN like sensation's on arms after 1yr use! Like needle's coming out of skin! took about 3 weeks off use to rid of it. I use natural desiccated NP hormone during the Cytomel.

I Saw An Endocrinologist Dec. 24th due to a second opinion because I was fatigued due to being treated for my hypothyroidism by my primary doctor. She prescribed me Liothyronine 5mcg, and advised me to take with my Levothyroxine 88mcg. That I’d already been taking before seeing her. All hell broke loose I have severe panic attacks(heart palpitations, blood pressure spikes, dizziness, difficulty eating, constipation, even night attacks) to this day! I stopped liothyronine January 2nd. but was Still Taking my 88mcg levothyroxine. And my symptoms persisted. She lowered me to 75mcg and I improved for about 3 days and it returned. I seen a new endocrinologist January 24th whom did more Thorough Labs and my thyroid levels antibodies etc all came back normal. But my Vitamin D levels are low so he told me to supplement D3 1000IU. Which I’m going to start doing tomorrow. I asked if I could take half my Levothyroxine 75mcg because I seem to improve a little that way. But at night my heart races and it’s hard to sleep...I do not know what to do I’m terrified to take my meds because one day I’m ok and the next I’m not...I don’t know if this is due to my medication still or if I now have a panic attack disorder.. I wish I could have my cortisol levels checked...She ruined me and my T3 levels were in range... The labs I shown her were from July of 2019, and I seen her Dec. 24th 2019. Had she done her own labs first I’d probably not be like this because she would have seen my levels were fine and I was vitamin D Deficient. Now I’m scared I’ll never be the same. I get emotional and scared of the thought of it often.

After 1 month, my mood is a lot better, but my heart rate is fast. I've lost 5 pounds, which losing weight has been very difficult for me. I'm going today to get blood drawn to test the dosage.

For more than 10 years I suffered from improper Thyroid drug ( only synthroid) . With Citomel I finally saw the light in the dark tunnel. Taking 150 mcg of synthroid and 12.5 of Cytomel

2006 Have all signs of hypothroidism, TSH 10.5 Started on Levothyroxine 112 mcg for Hashimotos with nodules 2009 Total Thyroidectomy 2011 started with signs of hypothyroidism again TSH always low 0.19 (ref. range 0.40-4.50) T4 1.5 (ref. range 0.8-1.8) T3 2.5 (ref. range 2.3-4.2) 2015 had sleep study because of wt gain, sleepiness foggybrain--(which was negative) 2017 MD added Cytomel 5mg twice day 5am & 12pm Within 3 days I started to feel a little better, by one month I had more energy and started exercising, losing weight, not as hungry. By 3 months I had lost 12 lbs. sleep much better and feel alert and can concentrate better. Felt a couple heart palpitaions first week of Cytomel Reduced coffee consumption No further palpitations Very satisfied, thank you Lord Jesus.

I've been taking it for 4 weeks. I am experiencing very bad rapid heart rate, and a rash on my arm. Even after not taking it for 3 days, i am still feeling the heart symptoms and itchiness. Now, additionally, brief bursts of dizziness. I am seeing my doctor this afternoon.

I took this medication as an addition to synthroid for a total of 5 months. I had radioactive iodine for Graves' disease in 1998 and have low t3. I developed horrible gastritis and esophagitis a month after starting this med. I was told it couldn't be this med from the gi doc and endocrinologist and pcp. I didn't trust my gut and stayed on the med 4 more months. My symptoms never went away. I had horrible nausea, stomach and esophagus pain, pressure, gnawing, and burning. I lost 12 pounds and could barely eat. The gi did a repeat procedure and said I had healed but symptoms remained. I stopped the cytomel and within 3 days was almost normal. the med worked great for the symptoms of low t3 but ripped up my stomach and esophagus. THIS MED CAN CAUSE SERIOUS STOMACH ISSUES.

I have been taking cytomel medicine as a supplement to my synthroid for over 15 years. Prior to adding this to my daily regimine, I had difficulty keeping my weight in a normal range. For over 15 years and through child bearing I have never had any indication that this drug is not working as it should not have I experienced any undesirable changes. Please make sure you are seeing an endocrynologist when taking any thyroid drug, only they are fully aware of how to interpret your blood work.

Breast tenderness and hard time sleeping at night. Otherwise gives a boost of energy that I didn't have with just T4. No weight loss yet. Feeling great though.

I have had no side effects, but I was wondering if there is Aspertame in this drug

I am just over a year past a total thyroidectomy for pap-thyca. I was on just synthroid and was functioning, but the Cytomel made a huge difference. I started on 5mcg daily and it helped. 10mcg made me somewhat normal and 15mcg gave me almost a 100% recovery to what I was prior to losing the thyroid. It is fast acting, unlike the synthroid that has to build up in your system. Missing a dose is more noticeable. I am completly satisfied that this is what I needed to beel better, especially after my synthroid was dropped at the 1 year mark.

I am hypo with a multinodular goiter. I am allergic to both name brand and generic Synthroid. It causes my hands to swell and hurt all the time. I've been taking Tyrosint for the last 9 months with better but not optimal results. My Endo added 5 Mcg Cytomel to help with my energy levels and misc other symptoms. It has helped in regards to my energy level and brain fog, but now after taking it for just 5 weeks my hands are swelled and painful all the time again. I believe I'm having the same allergic reaction I had to the Synthroid tablets. There's something in the fillers that my body doesn't like. For everyone I've seen post that you're not sure whether to tell your doctor about your symptoms...always tell them! Don't hesitate to discuss how you feel. It's important for your well being and research of drugs and patient reactions.

I have not felt/recognized any change in the rhythm of my moods.

I feel amazing since starting cytomel. My doctor first prescribed 10mcg for 1 month and re checked my T3 amf found that the level remained low at 71, increased it to 25mcg and I now feel "amazing." Have lost the belly fat and my energy level is back to normal!!!! Love it!!!

I wanted to claw my skin off. I could pay attention. I thought I was going crazy. My friends and family said I was acting crazy. I told my PCP about it, he check my t3 level and found it to be low. He put me on Cytomel and in 3 days I was a new person. I have been yo 4 Endo Dr 's in the part year. They all said get off it NOW. I told them why u was kn it they still waif off. I talk yo my pharmacists and PCP and decided to stay on it. It is my mircal drug.

I take Cytomel 5mcg once a day. I combine that with Synthroid .112mcg a day. My thyroid glad was removed, so I need these for T4 and T3. I have been taking Cytomel for less than a year. Previously, I just took Synthroid, but over time I didn't have enough T3 in my system so we added Cytomel. Overall, I feel much better than I did before Cytomel. It provides the T3 which my body needs. My energy and metabolism are better now. But I do notice that with it, I am more easily startled out of a sleep, I have occasional anxiety, and recently two of my teeth have broken. I read that someone else had teeth break while using it. I do believe it's a powerful drug and should be taken in small doses. I haven't found anything I like better. I tried Armor Thyroid and hated it. For me, the Cytomel/Synthroid combination is better.

I had Thyroid cancer which was detected in July, 2012 and had a TT in August of that year. Until January, 2013, I was tired, listless, and depressed due to Hypothyroidism. My Endo prescribed 5 mcg's of Cytomel daily, and I have been an energetic dynamo since. LOL!

I was on synthroid for 6+ years and gained a huge amount of weight. After years of begging to be put on something else this is what I was put on. And my levels stayed the same or raised. I have hypothyroidism and can check off damn near every symptom on the list. I am finally on Armour and after 1 blood test my levels are finally subsiding. (down from 21 to 11 in 6 wks) I still have symptoms but hopefully in the near future I will be a human again.
