Cefdinir for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection Reviews

"HORRIBLE. Was prescribed 300mg x1 daily. Day one was sharp pains in lower intestines. Day 2 was worse, with acid reflux that was the worst I ever had. I tried Apple Cider Vinegar, Pepto, Oatmeal, Omeprazole. Almost went to ER. Finally started to subside after 6 hours. I stopped it and still had pains in lower intestines for next few days. And a Panic attack 2nd day off. WORST STUFF EVER!!! IT must be bad. Even one of the manufacturer's discontinued it. SO many bad reviews too. For what I was being treated for I was actually suppose to be on 300mg x. 2 I am so glad that PA was a dope and got it wrong. A NEW PA diagnosed me differently and put me on Cipro. FDA Should make Companies refund us/system for crap like this."

"I had to take this for some infected blisters on my foot. (Foot was swollen, purple, and oozing liquids by the way, fun) It worked with no bad aftertaste or side effects. Took about a week. Odd that I'm seeing everyone getting all this diarrhea from it, I didn't have a single issue and I get diarrhea from everything. Worked differently for me I guess."

"This is my first time on cefdinir and I have had no side effects on it. Everyone is different, so you can’t tell someone to not take it. And I never read side effects before taking medicine. I take and then if something happens then I look at side effects. Took 2x daily 300 mg each. No problems at all."

"I was prescribed Cefdinir 2 x a day for 7 days. My side effects were severe fatigue, diarrhea all day & random back pain. I have a very sensitive stomach and it did not make me nauseous. I had a minor UTI and it took a while to start feeling better while on this medication."

"On cefdinir for an upper respiratory tract infection. First few days my stomach was making these funny noises but I was ok! On day 3 I had a vaginal yeast infection and a slightly sore throat that lasted for 3 days! On day 7 I started feeling dizzy and a little off my anxiety was through the roof! On day 8 my shoulders started to ache! I have 2 more days and I’m gonna try to finish them up. I did have one red stool throughout the time on this medicine!"

"Went through two courses of 10 days each for a skin infection that was resistant to topical Mupricin. Cefdinir shrunk it a little but ultimately failed. Am going back to have it cultured. We'll see what happens after that."

"Prescribed Cefdinir 300 MG (BID x 7 days) to prevent infection (I have artificial hips) after foot surgery. I've only had three doses so far. I've had a bad headache for about 18 hours, intense stomach pain, overall weakness & exhaustion, plus a little nausea. Taking with food doesn't seem to make a difference. I do not feel my symptoms are severe enough to discontinue use... yet. I will continue monitoring the stomach pain and weakness, as they are not pleasant."

"Patient compliance is better as size of capsule is easier to swallow. A 3rd generation cephalosporin with broader spectrum than say Keflex. Rapid resolution of infections due to susceptible bacteria. Most commonly prescribed antibiotic for skin infections of most other providers I know."

"300 mg every 12 hours. Soon after the 3rd dose became dizzy, sweats, extreme nausea, diarrhea, mild convulsions for hours on end. Beware. 48 year old white male"

"I was prescribed 1 capsule of cefdinir every 12 hours for 5 days after having a prostate biopsy. Did not experience any side affects whatsoever. White male 66 years old."

"Helped clear bacterial infection and reduce swelling, although I would recommend eating food with it to prevent any of the worse side effects."

"This medication made me so anxious if I had known it would do this to me I would never have begun the round. I took all the med and am still dealing with severe anxiety. Yuck!!! Beware."
