Ubrelvy for Migraine Reviews

"I feel for those of you that this was ineffective and made matters worse. Interesting that there is such polar opposites with medications between patients. Ubrelvy has been a medication that for the first time in my life pursuing treatment showing any efficacy to drop my pain index 3+ points! Not perfect, typically 6-8 hours of diminished intensity of pain/effects on my system. With 2 tabs daily, seems to have gotten more manageable. Been through all 7 triptans, all 3 CGRP injections, Botox, occipital nerve blocks, alternative treatments, and many other prescription combinations with no efficacy, with no clear idea of root cause. These darned chronic migraines never leave, I have no recollection of a time being pain-free. My deepest wish would be to know what it is like to not have a headache. For me, this has been something of beneficial treatment and appreciated. Here's hoping you can find something to assist you as well."

"My headaches began to change about a year ago and were stemming directly from my upper neck, wrapping around my ear and stabbing me above the eye. Each headache was 3 days long and didn't have the same typical migraine symptoms like nausea and some relief from ice or heat. These would fade in and out leaving me holding my neck and head up, unable to function, pain waking me up at 3 am, tender spots on neck, jaw, and head, and jaw popping. The headache would return with any slight strain to my neck or shoulders. Nothing was working for these. One neurologist diagnosed me with occipital neuralgia, but another recognized similar symptoms to a specific migraine and recommended Ubrelvy. Barely able to stand or function, I took it with little hope. Two hours later, all of a sudden, my neck pain vanished and I was headache-free. No side effects, I felt like a new person. I am blown away by this new medication and am hopeful of a new life!"

"I have been taking triptans for over 30 years, but unfortunately I cannot take them any longer after having a stroke last year. With no good options allowed, I was completely miserable with my headaches until this medication came out, and it has worked very well for me. No side effects. It takes about an hour and a half to work. I would recommend."

"I was given a one-time sample of this by my neurologist. I had forgotten about it for a while, but when I was having a daily terrible migraine for 3 weeks straight, I went searching in my medicine closet and found it again. Took it without much hope of it working, considering it was 7 PM and I'd had the headache since I woke up that morning, but less than 15 minutes later I had this sudden strange tingling sensation over the left side of my scalp where I usually feel my migraine pain, and within the span of a snap of my fingers, the pain was suddenly gone. Out of nowhere. I have NEVER had a medication do that for me before, and I've tried a lot of them. I didn't have any side effects from this one either. And as a cherry on top of this amazing situation, it's been 4 days and I haven't had another headache since! Considering I usually only have 1 to 2 migraine-free days a week, this feels like a miracle. I'll definitely be begging my neurologist for a prescription for this one."

"This medicine is a seriously a life saver. I’ve taken a million different things for my migraines for 15 years and have never found anything for relief except to go immediately to sleep. I took the 50 mg with an 800 mg ibuprofen and my vision was back within 25 mins, and my migraine was completely gone within an hour. I have been waiting for a medicine like this for a long time!"

"I am so sorry to see that there are so many folks who haven’t had a positive experience with this medication. It is like a miracle to me! I have used it three times over the past three weeks and each time my pain has gone away. I am 37 and have suffered for 30 years with my migraines transforming several times starting in my early 20s. I have been hospitalized for DHE 3 times, am allergic to triptans and imitrex and my doctor just resorted to prescribing me toradol injections so that I didn’t have to keep taking trips to the ER. I am on Aimovig as a preventative, which does help, but still get 5 to 9 migraines a month (some less intensive than others). I have scar tissue on both thighs from toradol injections, so Ubrelvy is a lifesaver. I hope it continues to work for me."

"This has been a lifesaver for me. The best part is I can take it and it doesn't knock me out. If I have to take it at work, I am able to function and not have to suffer through a migraine. I have used it 8 times in the last few months and only 1 of those times I didn't get as much relief. Completely takes the eye pain and sensitivity away."

"I do not like Ubrelvy! I normally take Zomig to treat my migraines and am happy with it. Unfortunately, my insurance only allows a certain amount per month. My neurologist gave me a couple of samples of Ubrelvy to help offset the absence of Zomig. He also gave me a prescription for it. I'm very thankful I have not filled it! I used the samples this past week, and it didn't touch my migraine. In fact, I think it made it worse. I also got very nauseous, and that continued even after violently vomiting. It made me very sleepy, and I felt terrible the rest of the day. I woke up the next morning feeling very strange. I didn't have a headache but felt 'woozy' in my head. My head felt very heavy, and my eyes felt weird. Not going through that again!"

"My neurologist gave me Ubrelvy to try for migraines, and it actually made my migraine worse, about the worst ever. In fact, I tried it three separate times to make sure it wasn't just a coincidence. It's not. I started with a migraine on a pain scale of 5, took Ubrelvy, and shortly after, my head pain shot up to a scale of 10, with extreme nausea (not normal for me). I was in miserable pain and agony, worse than any migraine would ever cause. I will never, ever take this horrible medication again."

"Ubrelvy has been an effective addition to my migraine rescue meds. I have chronic migraine with migraines typically 15+ days each month. Ubrelvy has allowed me relief for up to four days straight. I have found 50 mg is as effective as 100 mg. I have also found it doesn't have to be taken at the start as its long half-life can prevent migraines in the attack series."

"This is the worst migraine medication I have tried so far, and it seems like I’ve tried them all. I took this after receiving a sample from my new neurologist, and all it did was knock me out for 6 hours when I was supposed to be working. It also made my nausea and vomiting worse, and when I woke up, my migraine was worse. I will never take this again. The side effects greatly outweigh any benefits, which to me there were absolutely no benefits to this medication. All negatives."

"Wow, it’s crazy how these reviews are either amazing or horrible. My experience with 100 mg Ubrelvy has been amazing. It completely knocks out my migraines. I still feel groggy and fuzzy, but this works so well for the pain! Give it a shot."

"After 30 years of migraines, I have been on Maxalt melts with little success for 5 years. I've taken Ubrelvy twice now, also with different results but both positive. The first time I took it at the onset, and the migraine never fully came on. I was so happy. I had never experienced that. The second time, I got the migraine while not at home and I was without my meds. As soon as I got home, I took 50 mg with a full-blown 10 migraine, and it made it manageable enough to fall asleep. I woke up 4 hours later and it was gone completely, which was also a welcome change. I tend to only get hormonal migraines now and always at night. Occasionally, I'll get a triggered one. This, so far, seems to be the answer I've been looking for."

"I’ve been diagnosed with cluster headaches. Ubrelvy diminished my pain after two hours, and the pain was basically gone about 15 hours later. But then, approximately 30 hours later, I was extremely nauseous, had terrible stomach cramps, and started vomiting. Six hours later, I’m only just starting to feel better, and I feel like I’m getting another headache. I’ve been using Tosymra with good results, but it causes extreme nerve pain for about 30 minutes. However, I will never take Ubrelvy again."

"I have migraines mostly stemming from upper neck area pain that turns into a migraine on half my head, from the back of neck to forehead and behind my eye. I take 50 mg Ubrelvy that works within 2-3 hours. A miracle! Since my migraines usually last about 36 hrs. I’ve noticed extreme fatigue and body aches 2-3 days later, that has happened twice. Not sure if it’s related. But after taking my 8th Ubrelvy (over the last two months), I noticed random twitching while I was resting. This started an hour after I took Ubrelvy. My entire leg twitched. Then, a few minutes later, a small twitch in my thumb. Random twitching all over my body continued. Not constant but still kind of disturbing and lasted several hours. It’s a miracle for my migraines, but I need to find out what this could be before I continue taking it."

"Worst move ever to be on this med! OMG, the headache I got from this medicine was so terrible! Was worse than the migraine! Pain was a 4, took this med and pain turned into a 9.5! Ubrelvy was very expensive as my insurance did not cover it, and the performance was horrible."

"As a long-term migraine sufferer, I began taking Ubrelvy for breakthrough migraines. So far, I’ve taken a total of 3 doses and had great success. It is important to take this at the first sign of a migraine, as it will have greater efficacy. The third dose I did not take right away, and it took longer for relief."

"Terrible drug, the FDA should pull this from the market. Headache was worse with the drug than without. Also had some maniac episodes with this drug. Tried 30 pills total 50 mg, same results each day I tried. Did not work for me at all. :("

"Took my first 50 mg dose and got migraine relief within an hour, but soon thereafter got nausea and a very crazy feeling. Garbled speech, trouble standing, and extreme fatigue. Tingling lips, itching, and felt like something stuck in my throat. Won't be taking this med again."

"I have been a chronic migraine sufferer for 30+ years. I have tried every medication known to man. Some worked, but the side effects were unbearable. I would have migraines that would last for days. ER visits were on the rise, and even after trying Botox, I still suffered. I was reluctant to try a new med because of the lack of sufficient clinical data, but I was desperate, so I tried Ubrelvy. After the first dose of 50 mg, I noticed relief of my migraine within about two hours. No unwanted side effects, and I wasn’t at all drowsy. So far, I’ve taken about 20 pills with the same results. It does take some time for it to work, so now I take it immediately with the onset of any pain, so I’m not suffering while waiting for it to kick in. I know not all meds work for all people, but I truly think this medication is worth a try. It has really helped me. I’m not migraine-free, but I can function after taking this medication within about two hours."

"Well, add me to the list of people who say this medication did not help at all. I would have been upset if I had to pay retail price -- $100 per tablet. Fortunately, my copay was 'only' $20 at CVS with the manufacturer coupon for 16 tablets. I usually take Imitrex 6 mg injection for my migraines, and although it makes me feel pretty uncomfortable, it knocks down quickly 95% of my migraines. My neurologist suggested I try Ubrelvy for the heck of it. Bad move. After two hours, my headache got worse. I had to ultimately use my injection. I'll be throwing the rest of the pills out."

"I’ve had migraines and cluster headaches for decades. I’ve tried every available medication from barbiturates to vasodilators. Before using this medication, most meds have been ineffective. I’ve been using Tylenol, then Furinol, and then Imitrex as a last resort. I dread Imitrex and use it as a last resort. I’ve used Ubrelvy three times. I have CKD (stage 3 - Chronic Kidney Disease), so my doctor prescribed a 50 mg Ubrelvy tablet. We decided to start out using 25 mg. The first migraine was completely resolved within 2 hours of onset and treatment. The next incident, I needed a rescue dose of 25 mg. Again, I was completely pain-free within 2 hours, and I had not taken any of the other medications. I was again pain-free in 2-3 hours. The third time I used Ubrelvy upon migraine onset, I took a 50 mg initial dose of Ubrelvy. I was absolutely pain-free within 2 hours. So far, I have not experienced any side effects. This medication has been miraculous for me!"

"I love Ubrelvy! My migraines are severe and chronic. I get at least 7-8 vascular migraines a month, and they can last for days. I've taken many different drugs over the past 10 years or so. This is why I had little trouble getting insurance to pay for it. Maxalt was losing its effectiveness, not to mention the drowsiness, muscle pain, and mental fog it would cause was wearing on me. It made it difficult to go to work and drive because I was always worried about getting a migraine and either not being able to drive home or having to wait for treatment until it was too late for it to work. I feel like Ubrelvy works as good as, if not better than, Maxalt. One 100 mg pill gets rid of 7 out of 10 migraines, but it always at least eases the pain. The only side effect I get is an upset stomach if I haven't eaten anything. It can be very painful and nauseating, but food seems to do the trick for me. Once I eat, I'm good, and I can drive and treat a headache at work!"

"Horrible experience here. Took a 100 mg tablet on the onset of a migraine, and instead of the pain being a 5, it was a full 10. Had to go to the ER to get help! I tried once more with the 100 mg dose and the same result. Worse than if not taking it!"

"Ouch, this medicine made my migraine SO MUCH worse. Did not help at all, it was a migraine of a 4 in pain, and after this medicine, it shot to 9. I tried the medicine again 5 more times, and same result. The medicine simply does not work and makes my migraines way more of a problem than before. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Don't walk, run away from this medication. Would rather be in the ER."
