Bled for 6 months while doc said give it time. Finally over the bleeding, cramps, little to no sex drive and dryness.
I have only been taking this for 2 months now. My doctor prescribed it to me to see how it helps me with my endometriosis. I Havehad any complaints. I'm due to have my cycle next month so we'll see.
Simply awful experience for me. Uncontrollable, and heavy bleeding with the "delightful" addition of severe cramps. This happened almost right away after taking this pill. I tried to tough it out as best as I could in hope that it would eventually adjust to my body. I have never had a similar problem on any other birth control pill. After about a month of debilitating pain, and blood loss. I had to stop taking it, and go back on my old medication. -5 stars, would not recommend, or ever go through again.
Day 1 I started get migraines every other day and feeling really frustrated. The brain fog has gotten so bad that I didn't get a job because I couldn't think in my interview! I've gained 15 pounds in less than 8 weeks and can do nothing but cry and sleep for long periods of time. My acne has persisted on my chin for five weeks without healing and going away. I'm constantly constipated and nauseous, my sex drive is either 0 or 100 and I've been bleeding non stop for 17 days and counting starting on week 6 day 3. Its heavy enough that I have to use a tampon. I haven't had sex in weeks! I'm constantly sweating and hot! This is AWFUL and my doctor tells me I should keep taking it even though I've lost a dangerous amount of blood. He says this might continue for another five and a half weeks or beyond and that it's normal! I dont want to do this anymore. I've been on 4 birth controls and they all do this! Wtfff! Do NOT take this pill. My cramps are so bad I cant get out of bed.
I am no longer taking product. I took it for 3 years and had success.I did have the worst cramps of my life on it, but my periods were lighter and my monthly migraines became less. However, I started having a period in the middle of the pack for the last two pill packs and decided to stop using it. It has been 4 months since I discontinued the pill and I have yet to get a period. I am not concerned about pregnancy, but I am wondering why I haven't gotten a period since I stopped the pill but was having extra periods while on it. The first 3 years were great!
After almost 10 years on this med, I’m suffering from a severe hepatic adenoma. I require surgery and months away from my job. After a quick google search, I found that other women have experienced similar conditions but nothing has been changed on the label to inform the rest of us. A women even sued the manufacturer and won!

I have been taking Seasonique for about 10 years. I am 44, never been pregnant, and have zero plan to ever give birth. I have been very happy with Seasonique with the exception of the cost as my copay was $150/3 months; I was given this BCP for PCOS. Never had any issues with acne. I did lose some hair, but attributed that to family genetics and not the pill. I don't even have a period ... I wear 2/3 panty liners over two days - and that's about all I need. I just turned 44 and my doc wants me to switch to Minera - which I am terrified to do. The doc wants me off of estrogen and I am a nervous wreck about the potential of having a period again: migraines, bloating, excessive bleeding, cramping, etc. Anyone out there ever switch from a BCP to an IUD? Looking for advice and thoughts.
I had taken these Seasonique BC pills for about a year to two years to sort out some very serious PMS and PMDD issues, after having taken and hated OTC-LO and all's this did was continue to make me that much sicker! The attitude problems or mood swings as most people call them further escalated! The break through bleeding was more like bleeding to death and that's NOT even funny! If any BC pills happen to work for you that's GREAT and GOOD for you, honestly! But, if they DON'T it can really wreck havoc on your mind, body and even your life including but NOT limited to your relationships with friends, Family and even your CO-workers! In my experience the various Doctor's and OBGYN'S I have had the misfortune of dealing with, They DON'T like having to explain this "reality type stuff"! They'd just rather give out these prescriptions like their candies, after having put me through their abusively painful exams year after year for 13 years, with the on going threat and demands that my health care converge would expire if I DIDN'T go blah-blah-blah! If they say that to you that's NOT true it's a lie just like the lies that they tell that practically promise you with cancer if you DON'T schedule an appointment straight away! And, yet every single time I did try to get an explanation for things they'd get all judgmental and incredibly RUDE about it! YES, these pills CAN increase and aggravate certain health risks and conditions such as blood-clots, Breast cancer, heart attack and stroke just to name a few! And, if you are prone to changes in mood and behavior from these and other BC pills that's NOT something for Doctor's to simply just ignore, either! These signs and symptoms are and can be incredibly serious to those of us who do experience such things and it's good to have the knowledge ahead of time so, you can clearly and precisely understand your particular risk factors and if these pills NOT candies are the right choice for you and your particular situation!
I started this medicine a year ago. at first everything was normal. going on my second year I've dizzy a lot lately, my migraines have gotten worse, I am bleeding when I am not supposed to be. I lost all vision in my right eye temporally. I been in more pain on this medicine then before I was ever prescribed it.
I started taking this because I have painful periods and a heavy cycle I was taking minastrin before but it didn't seem to work anymore. In the beginning I had NO problems. when I got to the third pack almost finishing, all hell broke lose. I KNOW everyone is different but for me, I started getting breakthrough bleeding like chunky dark discharge it was DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!! and so embarrassing to tell my boyfriend. now I'm having a full period so idk how long I'm going to bleed. I need to go to the doctor due to abnormal pap results and I'm freaking out worried but guess what? thanks to this birth control I have to sit and wait for the bleeding to go away when my health is at risk here. regret taking this. it also gave me horrible cramps and extreme moodiness. To the point where I'd fight with my boyfriend or be so sensitive to stupid things. it really messed up my mood completely.
I was on Seasonique for about 5 years before stopping to get pregnant. I had no side effects during that time and loved only getting a period every 3 months. After pregnancy and taking Micronor while breastfeeding, I started Seasonique again about 6 weeks ago. I don't know if my body is still adjusting to it, but I have the worst cystic acne I've ever had in my life. I've always had bad skin, but it was actually best during pregnancy and Micronor (which I know is opposite most people). When I started Seasonique again, it's like I just made my skin mad. I'm going to finish out the pack to see if it gets better, but I'm considering going back to Micronor. I would rather get a period every month than stress out over my skin every day. On the upside - it worked very well for the first 5 years.
I have used this brand for the past 3 years. I still have random spotting, which can last up to a week, my depression increased, gained slight weight, and my chest grew from a 34C to 34DDD.
Started taking it for endometriosis, then immediately ended up with an intense, untreatable migraine that lasted the first full two weeks I stayed on it, before I couldn't take it anymore and just stopped. No other side effects.
Two weeks after beginning Seasonique, I began developing severe cramps and heavy bleeding. I went to the doctor who prescribed it to me and he told me to wait it out and to continue taking it. However, about a week later, I was in such severe pain (and extremely nauseous) that I had to be taken to the emergency room. The ER doc said that my symptoms were likely due to the birth control pill, as your body can take two to three months to adjust to it. However, she advised me to stop the pill because I had been bleeding for three weeks and was having severe cramps (worse than my usual periods). I also spoke to another GYN who said that he never prescribes Seasonique because of its severe side effects. I would not recommend this pill to anyone, and I don't know if I'd ever be willing to try another birth control pill again after this awful experience. I have now been off the pill for four days and am still feeling the effects of it.
I have been on this medication for over 2 years now...I almost forget what having a period is like! The first 9 months there was a little break through bleeding but it all sorted itself out...everyone has a different experience but mine so far has been much better than what I was experiencing before choosing this birth control.
So I am a 17 year old girl who honestly frequently is not on time with each and every pill. I stared taking seasonique on November 1st, 2015 because I have heavy bleeding when my periods occur. Since that day I have bled (a little lighter than normally but nothing too significant) until this day (December 7th, 2015) which is a MONTH AND A WEEK OF BLEEDING. I now have ANEMIA from bleeding for so long. I DO NOT RECCOMEND this birth control pill due to my horrible experience with it. I apologize about the excessive over-capitalization, it was just for all you skim-readers out there.
At first I used a birth control that would regulate my period, so I still would get it every month. But still, it didn't seem to fully help my long and heavy period and spotting all month. When my doctor prescribed me Seasonique it took away all my symptoms of a heavy period. I have no spotting, but as long as you follow the directions and take it regularly it helps. If you aren't good at remembering taking pills, or always seems to skip them this isn't for you. I'd suggest a birth control injection you get every 3 months at the doctor, since you would be taking this drug daily for months at a time.
?it so far. Yes, I've had breakthrough bleeding; but nothing I cannot deal with. One persons side effects should not sway your decision. I've had severe migraines since the age of 10, I'm sure age is a factor also, but I have not had more or any worse headaches. I've not had weight gain or mood swings. I believe each individual is different & some may benefit from this medication where others may not. I am one who has, I'm very glad my Dr tried me on it.
After trying a few different oral birth control options, this is without a doubt the one I will be sticking with. I hesitated at first, daunted at the idea of only having a period every three months. However after developing horrible cystic acne on Junel, I finally made the switch. Within two weeks my cystic acne became much less severe, and a few months later I now have no new breakouts. My periods are light accompanied with some cramping, but I've always had moderately painful periods. I've experienced zero side effects other than some minimal breast tenderness, it's been wonderful.
