Before Cryselle I was very fit and in good shape. I also had perfect skin. I never had cramps, migraines, spotting or heavy periods. I was energetic and always happy. After being on Cryselle for over a year, I have gained over 30 pounds. I anticipated weight gain since that's a major side effect of most birth controls, so I changed my eating habits shortly after starting Cryselle. I started eating healthier and being more active but that didn't help with the rapid weight gain. I now have stretch marks all over my body. I also have terrible acne all over my face, back, and chest. I have migraines 24/7 and they get worse when I'm on my period. The first period I had after starting Cryselle, I had the most excruciating cramps I've ever experienced. I thought my body was just getting used to the pills so I shook it off. I still get extremely terrible and debilitating cramps to this day. Over the counter pills, especially made for Menstrual cramps, do absolutely nothing to ease the pain.

I took the shot on March 1. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and fibroids. I was hoping to have tumor ablation but the only treatment for adenomyosis is to remove the uterus. I am going in for a supracervical hysterectomy in June. We can't do it any sooner since I am anemic and the fibroids are large. The lupron shot was to shut down my ovaries so that I would stop bleeding and build my blood up and hopefully shrink the fibroids. I have always had heavy periods and they have gotten worse over the last few years. On the 22 day into my cycle I started bleeding, by day 2 I was flooding every hour changing a super plus tampon and over night pad. I am on my third day and it is finally letting up some. Hopefully I will stop soon and not bleed the next two months. I need to be stronger for surgery. I know spotting was a possibility but this was awful. I started taking vitamin k and vitamin d drops. Will let you know how it progresses. It was an awful expensive mistake if it doesn't work. Thank God my insurance paid for it. Other than that I can't say that I notice any side effects. Hope it works better for others. I was so looking forward to giving the rest of my tampons to my daughter. I ended up having to go buy more.

I decided I was going to stop taking Effexor all on my own and just about killed myself. The withdraw was terrible. I wanted to stop taking it because of the severe weight gain. I went from 165 to 188 in 7 months. I told my doctor that I could not take it anymore because of the weight gain. So he switched me to Wellbutrin sr 300 mg a day. As far as the depression goes it is helping a lot. But I have a really hard time falling a sleep. Plus I moved to another country and time zone which dident help me get on a good sleep schedule in the first place. The side effects may sound severe but I think it is worth it. With Wellbutrin I have been able to keep my weight much more level then with the Effexor.

I only had side effects at the begining (headache, nausea).

I was prescribed medrol dose pack (5-day) for inner ear inflammation and tinnitus. I do not see much of a difference with my symptoms but I have tolerated the drug fairly well. Biggest complaint i have is a flushed/warm face. One positive side effect, oddly enough, is a slightly euphoric feeling...my mood is very happy, positive. Which is something my doctor said could happen. Curious to see how i feel mentally a week from now when i am off the medication.
