For Eye Conditions "Short stinging during initial eye injections for wet MD. After 6+ years of injections with almost no side effects, pain from this solution became intense and lasted 1-2 days with little let-up! I experienced heated tissue around my eyes along my forehead and cheek areas as well. My dry eye condition has also worsened! Rather than worsening is from the Betadine solution or from just increased dry eye due to aging, I do not know. I do not know if this is a possible development of an allergy to the Betadine solution. I’m being tested for that shortly."
"With injections in both eyes, I’m experiencing a very long-lasting stinging, burning, and scratching sensation in my eyes lasting for days, even after using dry eye drops repeatedly! I feel a slight tingling of my lips and tongue also. I do have dry eyes, but I used dry eye drops and gel repeatedly, before and after treatment. My other eye doctor even added plugs to my eyes to help with dry eyes. Things were a little better this last time. The retina nurse used eye wash several times after the injections. The area around my eyes (forehead and closed lids) feels very warm to the touch for hours. I’ve been taking these shots for several years without this problem, except for a very short period of time just after the injections. The last three procedures have been the only ones with the long-lasting pain and burning, etc.! Possibly, this is due to the worsening of my dry eyes. Please, make sure to tell and remind your doctor if you have dry eyes before the use of this necessary solution."
