Does reduce appetite and causes weight loss. Has lower A1C from 7.0 to 6.5. Have loss 20 pounds. Now within 7 pounds of normal BMI. But side effects arelengthening in duration, maybe due to lower weight versus dosage used. But side effects when they show up have affected productivity at work.

This medication has helped my mood greatly! I am only on 40mg at night as I cannot function during the day at work due to the drowsiness. I did find that it does go away somewhat. The muscle spasms only seem to come when I am sitting still. The other side effects I can live with as they are better than the bi-polar!

After being on Cymbalta for 9 months at 60 mgms, I am experiencing "flying off the handle" side effect. The Cymbalta has controlled the depression, but any stressor in my life causes a major, irrational temper tantrum. After I calm down, I'm fine. But, I've always been a laid back person and these symptoms are not normal. I'm going to my doctor to change my antidepressant from Cymbalta to something else.

I'm so glad I reviewed this site. Lotrel has worked in bringing my blood pressure down but I have felt for a long time that it was the medication that was making me feel this way. The strange part is that it comes and goes. I could go a few weeks with minor symptoms and then experience a rough period. My doctor kept saying that if it was the drug it would be a daily issue.I'm making an appointment to get me off this drug. The question is what medication doesn't have side effects??? I guess I'll keep trying until I find the right one.

I have been on other SSRIs and SNRIs. All had some side effects but none made my feeling so lousy, in every way. THIS IS A DIRTY DRUG. I not recommend it to anyone. TRY EVERYTHING before you resort to Cymbalta. Yeah, Depression Hurts but I never felt worse. I couldn't really tell whether there was any effect on my depression because I felt never felt well. GARBAGE drug. The withdrawal terrible and there is no step-down from the minumum dose. Cold turkey from 30 mg is a nightmare. RUN
