I recently stopped taking Humira. I would NOT recommend any biologic drugs to anyone. Humira is not called a chemo drug, despite that being what it is. Targeting, killing and modifying cells in our bodies is the very way that it is designed to work. These biologic drugs wage chemo warfare in our bodies, and the side effects and issues these drugs cause is because our bodies are fighting to get rid of the invader, which is the drug itself. No drug will save your life because we are human. We are not meant to live forever. Stay away from the -mabs and all the other biologic drugs. Live every day of your life like it is your last.

Not sure what I’m going to do about the bloating and weight gain. It’s not for vanity that I care (well, maybe a little) but I read about a severe side effect on webmd of “abdominal swelling” and “intestinal swelling”. That just sounds unsafe.I am open to recommendations.I believe, in the balance, my menopause symptoms being as severe as they were, I’m still happier on the patch. I’m sleeping and I’m not sweating half my body weight every hour anymore. That’s something, I guess.A great book on this subject is “Outliving Your Ovaries” by Dr. Marina Johnson. The title says it all...

At first, dizziness, nausea, headache, bruxism. I solved most of the headaches with a night toothguard for the bruxism (I dreamed I was eating so I figured out I was grinding my teeth, which I never did before. Now, only slight yawning and vivid dreams (I like this). Slight sexual side effects.

I felt better during the first month of 30mg Duloxetine, not tired, more alert, better concentration and less pain, though could not sleep. Next month started terrible anxiety attacks night and day, sweating, head spinning,nightmares, vomiting, my brain felt on fire like a cracker to explode,could not function properly at work, disorientated, weak.Felt like dying.I stopped this medication after 2 months!! My GP explained that everybody will have one or two side effects??I do not think it is safe to use.

Amazingly, I have no discernible side effects. My uncontrolled BP peaked at 300/200 (seriously). The doctors said they had never seen such numbers. Typical numbers for me were in the neighborhood of 240/160 and that was a good day. I could routinely hear my blood circulating. They did every test in the book but finally decided it was "essential" hypertension with no pathological cause. I got lots of headaches then but I haven't had a headache in 16 years! I also take an ACE inhibitor. My BP on meds is 120/80.
