Its really hard for me to tell any noticeable effects from this drug as Im also on Sertraline for my depression and anxiety and also just started on Lamictal for my obsessiveness, and its hard to distinguish which drug does what, truthfully, I never thought about side effects until I did some research on Lamictal on this site, after reading others testimony I realized that Ive experienced some of the same side effects, I havent experienced a hell on earth, more like a purgatory, a feeling of helplessness in the world, an unability to better my position and I cant tell if its the medicine or if its due more to external factorsI have definitely noticed a decrease in sexual appetiteI do feel that my obsessiveness has been curbed, but not altogether halted, I dont tend to count syllables or add numbers as much, also I am socially less awkwardI needed something to stop my obsessive thoughts and it seems to have helped but I need to pay more attention to side effects to gauge this drugs efficacy, if its worth the trade off

by the end of the second week of taking, had MASSIVE side-effects, namely severe stiffness and tremors in shoulders and head, leading to horrible tension headaches, along with severe anxiety, with a feeling of having a heart attack. Side-effects worst right after eating or drinking liquids.

The bladder infection, or UTI, itself is a miserable thing to have. So I can endure the side effects as long as it will cure the infection. I was lucky—the side effects were low. The one I seemed to have was drowsiness, although I can’t tell if its from the medication, or the infection itself. Take this medication with food and if taking it twice a day, be sure to take it like clock work. I felt improvements with my UTI within the second dose. By the time my week was over, and my meds gone, I seemed to be cured if the UTI completely!

As a gay male, this was just about the worst drug I could've been given. I basically already had my UC in control, through diet; I hadn't had the disease long and was just learning about diet; then my doctors gave me this (and told me not to worry about my diet, idiots that they were): prednisone ended up ruining my skin (my face is now scarred and discolored)--which really affects your self-esteem. Also the drug did nothing for me. I ended up putting my disease in remission with just a very clean diet (no dairy, almost no sugars, no red meat) and taking probiotics religiously. So the side effects, the permanent scarring with which I'll now have to live forever, were for no reason. I really recommend others not put blind faith in whatever your doctor says; there are really some morons out there--and prednisone is a really horrible drug under the care of a moron.

My fever was almost gone after 1 pill; after reading all this, I'm not using it anymore. I didn't even know this was a bad antibitic with such horrible side effects. If I had an unknown infection I would still use this again; this isn't serious enough in my mind.
