Hydrocodone for Pain Reviews

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "I would give this medicine 20 stars if I could. Finally a time release version of hydrocodone without any acetaminophen. I have been taking Norco 10/325 for a little over a year and it was starting to have little to no effect for my chronic back pain. I was always in constant fear about getting bumped up to oxycodone due to the Norcos not working anymore but then Zohydro comes along and changes the game! No side effects whatsoever for me and I'm getting a good 12 hrs of pain relief per dose! Another positive note is that I'm only taking 2 pills per day rather than taking 4-5 Norcos, and with the absence of acetaminophen I don't have to worry about damage to my liver anymore. THANK YOU ZO-HYDRO!"

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "I am suffering from arachnoiditis of the thoracic spine due to 2 arachnoid cyst surgeries. Zohydro is far superior at lowering pain levels. It also does not upset my intestines or cause liver damage. In terms of pain reduction, it is the best pain reliever ever. It also does not have the ups and downs in regards to pain levels that Norco has. It is about time that a hydrocodone-only medication has been offered, and I really hope that the special interest lawmakers don't get their way, and this medication remains on the market."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "Suffering with chronic pain from debilitating spinal injuries, I was always prescribed Acetaminophen-containing hydrocodone. I was always getting bad acid reflux and digestive problems. I would explain this to my original pain management Dr., and he would switch me from Vicodin to Percocet. The constant stomach issues continued. I switched to a new Pain Dr. I told him I was feeling fatigue and constant acid reflux when taking my pain medicines. He suggested trying a time-released pain medicine with no acetaminophen. He felt I was taking too much Acetaminophen and perhaps too many pills, period (4 pills a day). He suggested trying Zohydro. I am forever grateful I switched. Great relief of back pain and stomach problems. 10 stars."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "I've had a really good experience with Hysingla ER. I have had debilitating sacroiliac (SI) joint sciatic nerve pain for 6 years. I've tried chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy, injections, electroshock therapy, and Norco 10/325 4 times a day for the last 4 years. I did get some relief, but not enough to make my daily life enjoyable. It has been a struggle with pain daily, especially with three small children. Two months ago, my pain doctor recommended Hysingla ER to me (as a last resort before surgery), and I decided to give it a shot. I started at 20mg, then increased to 30mg after 4 weeks, and then to 40mg after another 4 weeks. I can't believe the difference in my life since starting Hysingla! I can take long walks again! I can go grocery shopping again!"

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "I have chronic arthritis and have for 25 years. Believe me, I have tried everything. Finally, a pain clinic doctor put me on Zohydro, and I have my life back. I can't tell you how much it helps. Please don't let anything happen to where FDA takes this drug away. Why do the druggies have to ruin it for the people that are in pain always. Thank you Zohydro...thank you.."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "My doctor put me on this after my blood test came back showing signs of liver problems from the Vicodin I was taking. I'm actually much more satisfied with Zohydro. It only needs to be taken once daily instead of four times. I feel more consistent pain relief without the spikes and valleys of the other. Wish it would have been available sooner. I could have avoided the possible liver damage I now have to deal with."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "I have horrible arthritis pain for many years... tried everything. I've been on Vicodin (10mg) 4 a day for about 6 years. Finally, a pain clinic doctor gave me Zohydro (40mg) 2 a day. I would say I am 80 percent pain-free. Overall quality of life has changed. No more ups and downs. I have to remind myself to take the second pill. Thanks ZOHYDRO!"

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "I have had chronic lower back pain/degenerative disc disease for over 25 years, along with an L5 S1 discectomy. My pain and my condition continue to get worse with time. In the past, I have been on Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, and just most recently, OxyContin 30 mg time release, which I did not like at all. Even more recently, I was prescribed Hysingla 80mg time release. I have been taking it for two days now and I am amazed at how I feel when I wake up! No pain, and slight withdrawal, at which point I take a 10 mg oxycodone for breakthrough pain. It's been forever since I have woken up happy. I don't notice any side effects yet. I can say that it certainly does not last he 24 hrs... more like 12-14, and it takes a few hours to start working."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "I have been taking Zohydro for two months now for a herniated disc in my back. I was taking Norco three times a day, but it would always wear off, and with my liver condition, I was not keen on the acetaminophen that is in Norco. I can now go through my day pain-free! I hope all the naysayers leave us chronic pain patients alone!"

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "After three years of taking oxycodone 10 ER and oxycodone 5 IR for three cervical anterior and posterior with instrumentation, I asked my spine doctor to change me to Zohydro ER. The oxy was making me sick to my stomach, and I was dizzy and tired. I have to report that after a few months on the Zohydro ER, I was able to transition to not only getting off the oxy but I am almost pill-free and pain-free. I am so grateful for Zohydro ER. I was afraid I was getting addicted to the oxycodone, and with the Zohydro ER, I had no feeling of euphoria. I am so grateful. Thank you for giving me back my life."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "I’ve had 9 surgeries since 2003. One total shoulder replacement that was done incorrectly and needs to be redone. Failed shoulder cuff on the other arm causes constant pain. Total hip, total knee. Three back surgeries! The last one in 2015 was a spinal fusion. I am in constant pain. I’ve tried everything: injections, PT, burning of the nerves—nothing helps! My pain doctor has me on Hysingla 40 mg, but it does nothing! Due to terrible upper gut ulcers from upper bowel obstruction (that was because when I had an emergency splenectomy, the surgeon tied a knot in my stomach!), I feel like all the doctors treat me like a druggie. It could be in my head, but I do get the feeling even from the pharmacy that I feel like a criminal, and I’ve never done anything wrong with these stupid meds that do nothing! This Hysingla is so expensive! Thanks for letting me rant."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "My doctor switched me to this, no reason given. I'm 58. I have had Renal Cell Cancer. I have 1 kidney left. Heart Disease, Diabetic, Discs are gone. I am not a surgical candidate due to my health. I have never taken illegal drugs nor have I failed a random urine test, pill count etc. But because of what other people do, I am grouped into that stereotype. It's embarrassing, humiliating. Not everyone is an addict or looking for drugs. But this is the worst drug I have ever tried."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "Was forced to switch from 4 to 6 Norco every 24 hrs. to Hysingla ER 30. I've gotten massive headaches every day in the past 6 wks since starting it, far less pain relief, itching, and swollen abdomen. My Dr. insists I need to stick with it."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "Tried morphine and Percocet for severe, intractable pain from injuries and surgery. Hysingla was then prescribed as those did not help. Hysingla did nothing for my pain and also made my head feel swimmy, and it’s very constipating, like severely. The doctor tried Norco, and I’m finally pain-free most of the day now, the first time in years. I really can’t say why Hysingla didn’t work because Norco is the same ingredient, but it didn’t work for me and Norco really does work for me. Like, amazingly. And I’ve never had to step up the dosage nor ever had addiction or withdrawals to pain medication. (Only Cymbalta for me was highly addictive and took me over a year to get off of it. Withdrawal was severe. Strange because they say opioids are not safe, but for me, they are, and antidepressants were not. Very strange.)"

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "I've been a chronic pain patient for 10 plus years. My doctor wanted me to try Hysingla 100 mg even though my other medication was working the best out of all the others I've tried and been on. I took the first dose and I didn't seem to have any relief but I kept reminding myself what he and I discussed so I gave it another try. By this time my other medication is no longer in my system and now my pain is getting really bad so I called my doctor's office. I was advised that the Hysingla would peak at 15 hours of taking it and sometimes takes a while to build up. After a few days, my doctor took me off of it, and aspirin worked better than the Hysingla. I hope others don't have to suffer like I did."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "I have psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia, all of which are very painful. I was on 7.5 Narco's, which actually worked. I have never abused medication, I take them only when needed. My pain was controlled. Then my doctor put me on Hysingla ER. The medication is worthless. I have no pain relief at all. When I told the doctor, the nurse red-flagged me as an addict."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "I have chronic back and neck pain from 2 car accidents. I was rear-ended. Had to have a 3-level cervical fusion with a titanium plate 5 years ago. I was on Exalgo 8 mg, with Dilaudid or Norco for breakthrough pain. Norco always worked better for breakthrough pain, but didn't like being forced to take acetaminophen that's in Norco. Just switched to 10 mg Zohydro 2x/day. Side effects were headache, nausea, and a knot in my stomach, which lasted the first 1-2 hours. My doctor gave me Zofran for nausea, which worked. My pain control is great! I am also sleeping much better. I do take some Norco for breakthrough, but it's so much better! This is day 3, and side effects seem to be gone! Great medicine. Need to get the coupon working for me. Thanks, Zohydro!"

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "Too many warnings. I want a refund. There is plastic in these pills. They bounce. What the heck? Gave me a nasty flu-like headache. Do not waste your money. I don't know why the doctor wrote this crap. Never again."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "This medicine took forever to work at all and didn't touch my foot, back, knee, or migraine pain. What it did do is make me horribly nauseous, gave me hot sweats and shakes, made my hair fall out by the handful, and costs almost $200 for 30 pills. The prescription card only covers a month, but it was time and money wasted. What a horrible experience!"

"Tris generic 5/325: I'm a 53-year-old with DDD, RSD, scoliosis, failed back surgery syndrome, T8 fracture, 2 bulging thoracic discs, inflammatory arthritis, and more. I've been in pain clinics off and on since my 20s. I tapered off 15 mg SA + 15 mg LA oxycodone every 8 hours before moving to AZ and haven't been on an opioid for a year. My pain doctor prescribed 5/325 every 6 hours, and it does absolutely NOTHING for my pain. My doctor won't increase the dose, but thanks to all the very helpful reviews here, I am going to get the PAR generic to see if it works better. It's very disheartening to be a legitimate pain patient, with conditions documented on MRI, CT, etc., and to be treated like a drug-seeking criminal just because my pain is so severe I cannot function without opioids. Opioid hysteria has ruined pain management, and doctors have become cowards. All the pain doctors care about now is keeping their opioid prescribing numbers low and doing procedures with high reimbursement rates."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "I was taking Norco 10mg 4x a day but it wore off so fast. I asked the doctor for an increase of 20mg. He suggested 20mg Zohydro twice a day and 20 mg Norco for breakthrough pain. The medicine is pricey, and I had to give it up this month. I am shopping for price comparisons, and I have the company coupon that will get $250 off. I didn't realize how effective it was until I gave it up. How stupid I was! This stuff covers me from getting out of bed until it runs out, which is about 8 hours later, so I probably need to move up to the 30s. I have an appointment in a few days, and I am going to tell my doc to keep the Norco's and just adjust my Zohydro, and I will rob banks to pay for it. I had my life back for a while. I miss it."

Zohydro ER (hydrocodone) "I have only taken Zohydro ER today. After 5 years of constant pain due to a back injury and R.A. today is the first day I have been pain-free. I can actually enjoy sitting up watching TV pain-free. Just 24 hours ago, my pain was so bad it ruled my life. Thanks to Zohydro ER, I see a light at the end of a very, very long tunnel. The only side effect I have experienced today is I have had spells of being a bit sick to my stomach. But I do think being pain-free outweighs that."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "MS Contin 60 mg daily since 1998 with breakthrough pain combo with MSC-IR 30 mg 3x day. Some dizziness and nausea at times with MS Contin. Began Hysingla ER 60 mg daily 3 months ago with excellent results. No lumbar pain. 80% CSPINE pain reduction and NO side effects period. It does work around the clock. Chronic discogenic pain in lumbar since 1989 post 3 level lumbar laminectomy. PCDF C2-C5 and ACDF C5-C6 with 80% pain relief. Miracle Rx for me! NO addiction issues. Feel NO high with sustained release meds. Just wish the price will go down soon! Highly recommend for those with moderate-severe lumbar pain that tolerate opiates well. Also, like MSC, NO liver panels."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "I find that this medication is unable to relieve my severe back and neck pain. Not only that, I now have severe migraines with the use of Hysingla. I feel that more research was needed before releasing it. I cannot handle the increased pain which it has caused, along with dizziness and fatigue."

Hysingla ER (hydrocodone) "I took one dose. I had no reduction in pain compared to Norco 10/325, 2-3 a day. In fact, I had more pain. Terrible side effects including a spike in blood pressure, headache, felt woozy, rapid pulse, and what I believe to be an anxiety attack. It was a nightmare, and all I could do was wait for it to finally wear off. I have impaired kidneys, so it took 36 hours to leave my system. Horrible experience!"
