For Dietary Supplementation "This is really an amazing medical food. I have a deleted MTHFR gene and as a result suffer from depression. When I feel an onset of depression I take Deplin and within 20 minutes I am back to normal, an hour at most. Sometimes it will take me a few days to shake it. It all depends how long I have been able to be normal without it. I had been taking it daily until I started getting irritable and my doctor then told me to go on a maintenance dose, as I was now getting too much of it in my system. I usually take it twice a month or once a week, but if I forget to take it sooner or later I have a depressive bout and I then I have to take it for several days until I can get back to normal. For those who have this defective gene, Deplin is a life saver. All you are doing is giving your body what it can not produce for itself.
