Minocycline for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection Reviews

"Had previously taken bactrim for 60 days for a staph infection. Had some unfavorable side effects from it, so my doctor decided minocycline would be a suitable alternative for the last month of treatment. They were wrong. After a day of taking minocycline, I noticed that I wasn’t feeling myself. As time has gone on, I have felt weirder and weirder. I am a regular sufferer of the anxiety and let me tell you, you haven’t felt real anxiety until you have taken this. If you thought Vietnam was bad, just wait for minocycline to take effect. It’ll make you harken for the good ol’ days of prospective Charlie’s in the trees. You know, when those were your only worries. Now you worry about everything. Stuff that isn’t even possible. Like getting Lou Gehrig’s disease or losing your significant other to that meddling group of magicians that live in the Ford Fiesta in the alley behind the Walgreens. FYI, they turn tricks... into reality. I don’t even have a girlfriend."

"I have been feeling very dizzy. It makes me feel light headed, weak and tired. I was having peri-oral dermatitis and so far its actually working but my skin is still hyper pigmented from the previous itching and flaking of the dry skin on my chin. I noticed that if I don't eat at least an hour before taking the pill I pass out completely and I feel lethargic."

"I was prescribed this because I had an infection in my ankle due to an impacted metal. While I waited for surgery to remove it I was prescribed this for a period of two weeks. I was extremely dizzy and weak on it. Thankfully the podiatrist that ended up doing the surgery changed me to another antibiotic that had no side effects and kept me infection free until the surgery could be performed. "

"I had a moderate case of confluent and reticulated papillomatosis, and was prescribed minocycline. It had pretty much cleared it up (not 100%), but I had developed pulsatile tinnitus (hearing my pulse due to a mucus buildup in my inner ear) in my right ear as a side effect of the medication, and it has persisted for about 4-5 months. I was on the minocycline regimen for about 3 months. I've seen the doctor about my ear, and the pulsing sound has reduced greatly and doesn't really bother me anymore (though I going to return to try to get rid of it completely). Minocycline is effective, but just be aware that this can also be a side effect of this medication."

Minocin (minocycline) "I had been suffering with localized Granuloma Annulare which started initially on the backs of my hand. I had monthly steroid injections which cleared up existing patches but then then I would have outbreaks in new areas and then I experienced a huge breakout on my right forearm. After several months, the dermatologist prescribed Minocyline and within one week, the lesions started to disappear. After two weeks, they began to fade completely with no new outbreaks. Around the two-week period, however, I did start to develop headaches but Aleve made them manageable."

"I was prescribed to Mynocycline to treat a skin condition called Confluent and Reticulated Papillomatosis (CARP) & it's results were devastating. I was outside at work 1 day after about 3 weeks of taking Mynocycline and I felt faint. Then a few days later I noticed bumps on my forehead which later spread to my arms & legs. I went to the doctor & they gave me a shot of steroids which made me think it would clear up my skin. Within the next day's the bumps turned into a full blown rash all over my body and my face had swollen up as well. A few days later I got a biopsy done & learned I had developed a condition called Dress syndrome as a result of a severe allergic reaction to Mynocycline. A month after the biospy I'm still recovering with the use of steroids. BEWARE of this drug"

"Minocycline sucks I took it for 2 weeks then got swelling, itchy, red, lumps and blisters all over my body, and my fingers and arms were swelling. I stopped the medicine and took benadryl and it is slowly improving. Now it is almost a week after, but there are still blisters. Do NOT take this"

Minocin (minocycline) "Dr. prescribed this medicine because the pimples on my head didn't clear after a year of doing some topical medication, prescribed by a different dermatologist. A year ago my nasty neighbor sprayed my head with some chemicals or parasite and all my head was covered by itchy and painful pimples. Since this time I have a real problem, I hope that medication cures it instead to add more problems with my health. So far, 2 weeks no improvement at all."

"I have only used this medicine for two days and have been unable to sleep. The rash on my chest is clearing up, but I feel nausea continually."

"Had to stop taking it after 3 days. Vomiting, extreme dizziness, itching."

"Made me sick on my stomach, very dizzy and felt it made my kidneys hurt !"

"I used it for a skin infection. Made me feel very nauseous, dizzy and confused. I stopped taking it and all the symptoms immediately went away"
