For Diabetes, Type 1 "My awful insurance company stopped covering Lantus on January first, with no warning to me. When I went to pick up Lantus the pharmacist instead gave me Semglee, a totally unknown drug to me. I did not want to take Semglee. I have many food and drug allergies. I have waited a month to hear from the insurance if they will still allow me to get Lantus because of my allergic reaction concerns upon switching to Semglee. I finally ran out of Lantus today, and tried Semglee. Redness and radiating soreness at injection site, dizzy, feel faint. I took a reduced dose from my Lantus dose out of fear of a bad reaction. That was a good call. I am not taking this again. Will just use (higher doses) Novolog, without a supporting long-lasting insulin. Crappy insurance company changes my Lantus after 20 years of successful use. I hope they are happy with their extra money."
For Diabetes, Type 1 "Was switched from Lantus to Semglee. Severe rash, itching all over body. Injection sites burn with rash and sores. I hate this stuff. Take it off the shelves. Going back to Lantus. Insurance companies should be held liable for making people change to this junk."
For Diabetes, Type 2 "I am able to control my blood sugar without medication. I went into the hospital for pneumonia, and they feed you food that is NOT good for diabetics, so naturally, my blood sugar went up. They gave me insulin and long-acting insulin. OMG, I never felt so bad as I do after I take Semglee: terrible headache, palpitations, and overall weakness. I’d rather not eat sugar or carbs like I usually do. I can’t take Semglee; no thanks!"
For Diabetes, Type 2 "I had awful side effects from Tresiba so my doctor prescribed Novolog. My insurance refused to cover it so I am now on Semglee. My blood glucose level has been better, however, it feels like I am injecting alcohol every time I use it. The burn is horrible."
For Diabetes, Type 2 "Since taken Semglee from September 2020 I've put 2 stone on and looks nine months pregnant huge tummy and very high sugar would not recommend anyone to take it awful stuff wast of money cheapest on the market I can see why ."
For Diabetes, Type 2 "I was put on Lantus because of Prednisone. It was an easy transition from Metformin. I was switched immediately to Semglee. It works well but burns at the injection site when injected. I see others have had similar experiences. I didn't have this problem with Lantus."
For Diabetes, Type 2 "I found out Lantus wasn't covered by my insurance about June 2022 and Semglee was replacement although copay assistance card made copay 0. I finally started taking after using up some Lantus and after a week I have some hives and itching. Also I'm unusually tired when I'm not doing anything vs when I wasn't taking it. I'm going see if I can increase my Trulicity and get off Semglee totally"
For Diabetes, Type 2 "I’ve been using Semglee for at least 6 months now since insurance said no to Lantus! I’ve had no bad experiences with this insulin. I’ve used 3 others and though not my preferred… it works with no Ill side effects- lest not for me."
For Diabetes, Type 2 "Semglee has lowered my blood sugar and is very effective. It has taken me a bit to figure it out. I gained weight initially on Lantus 10 years ago - then - in 2019 I had to switch to Basaglar, then Tresiba, then Levemir due to insurance changes. I did 37 units of Levemir on a calorie restriction diet with higher protein, moderate fats, and carbs. It was working and I lost about 14 pounds. Then, because of insurance, I had to switch to Semglee 3 months ago at the same 37 units as I had with Levemir. I was gaining a pound a day! It was awful. I finally brought it down to 28 units slowly - which was the exact same threshold for me gaining on Lantus! They are so similar that way. I stopped gaining and it was very effective at controlling my sugar and I slowly dropped the weight I gained in about 5 weeks. Now I am at 24 units and it is getting almost too good at controlling my sugar, and I had a whopping hypo today after forgetting to eat. I am going to take it down to 22 units and see how it goes."
For Diabetes, Type 2 "I have been feeling worse since I started taking Semglee. It caused my ankles, foot, lower legs to swell, I felt dizzy and had itching."
For Diabetes, Type 2 "Semglee put me in the hospital, via an ambulance. I had flushing of my face, a rapid heartbeat, headache, nausea, blurry eyesight, felt ready to pass out, and generally feeling bad all over."
For Diabetes, Type 2 "Been using Semglee for 1 month so far. Put on 5 pounds and had 3 pens fail so far, the plunger breaks and you can’t use the rest of the injections"
