Generic Name: Uroxatral for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (alfuzosin)

Uroxatral for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Reviews

"Switched to Uroxatral after being on Flomax for a couple of months. While Flomax addressed Benign Prostate Hyperplasia issues very well, it had a horrendous effect on my sexual function. I could no longer ejaculate at all and could no longer reach orgasm. Within a few days of being on Uroxatral, those issues are gone and in some ways are better than before being on either medicine. Uroxatral is handling the BPH issues just fine."

"It took a few days for me to feel any noticeable difference. Once it worked its way into the system, it acted as described and provided relief with almost no side effects. The one thing I cannot stress more is to make sure it is taken consistently (same time every day) for maximum effect and relief."

"I have only learned of this drug only through reviews/forums. I have been prescribed Flomax for the past 5 years and would only take it as needed. Very disappointed in the two urologists that I have had over the years, as I have told each of them about my side effects, which made me not take Flomax. Meantime, I have somewhat successfully fought against severe urinary problems by taking a particular pure (no filler material) Saw Palmetto. Yet, I have increasingly needed to use Flomax. Flomax 0.4 mg is terrible for me since it stops my libido to absolute zero very quickly! Immediate ED ensues, and once ended, it takes days to return to having sex with actual ejaculation. Manhood ends with Flomax! Enter Uroxatral 10 mg - whew! I now take this drug daily and it does NOT affect my sex life. Period. Better yet, I pee like a 16-year-old! Thankfully, I have no blood pressure or liver problems. I just had my physical, and all of my blood data is perfect. I don’t notice any described symptoms at all."

"Uroxatral was about as effective for me as Flomax with fewer side effects. It makes me very tired and lightheaded sometimes, but with none of the stuffiness that I had with Flomax, which was a big plus. I'm not rating it higher because it didn't do much for my BPH pain, although urinary flow was much improved. Herbal supplements of quercetin and beta sitosterol still work the best for me."

"Uroxatral saved my bacon for years. Then the generic came out, and twice I tried to switch. All I got was the same side effects, but no positive outcome. So I switched back to the brand name, but that has increased 300% in price since the generic came out. It's as if they know the generic is not as good and that they are the only game in town, so they're up to $20 per pill, and no insurance will cover it, even though the generic simply doesn't work and the other two drugs have more serious side effects."

"I have now used Uroxatral for six months. At first, when taking Uroxatral, I would easily tire and experienced stomach pain much of the day. Now, it seems my body has adjusted to the medicine and I am not as likely to become tired. I still have stomach discomfort but not as severe. One thing I have noticed which concerns me is the fact that Uroxatral seems to wear off easily, and the frequency to use the bathroom has not really disappeared. Overall, the drug seems to work well."

"Started on Uroxatral as a replacement for generic Flomax. Pain while urinating, urgency, and frequency of urination all increased, along with a lot of difficulty getting started and trying to keep going. On top of that, I experienced rather bad constipation, to boot. All of the above cleared up after going back to terazosin."

"This made me tired and lethargic. I became so tired I didn’t even want to have sex. Not too popular with the wife. My symptoms of having to urinate all the time did not go away. I work for a living, and being tired all day does not cut it."

"It works well if you can stand the side effects: weakness in limbs, dry mouth/throat, constant sore throat that feels like strep, and constant thirst. I had to quit and return to Flomax as it just makes me dizzy."

"Had taken Flomax 2 x 0.4 mg daily for BPH. Was somewhat effective, but I had difficulty reaching orgasm and rarely ejaculated. After changing to Uroxatral, both side effects improved, but still have diminished ejaculate volume and some difficulty reaching orgasm. With both drugs, I still had to urinate 1-2 times during the night."

"I have bph and overactive bladder. I take avodart, vesicare and uroxotral. I have been taking these three for years and have noticed little or no difference in my urinary habits. I still go on average once an hour and recently have started to wake up in the middle of the night three times versus 1 or 2 times prior to the last few months. I am going to speak to my doctor because these meds seem to be not helping me."

"I previously took Finasteride, which effectively slowed the growth of my prostate. However, it also resulted in retrograde ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. In an attempt to find alternative solutions, I tried taking saw palmetto and various other herbs. Then, I gave Alfuzosin a try, taking it every other day. I immediately noticed improvements in my urination stream, as well as better emptying of the bladder. Additionally, my erection, sexual drive, and ejaculation showed improvement. It was a great outcome! Unfortunately, after a few doses of Alfuzosin, I began experiencing heart and gastrointestinal issues, along with difficulty sleeping. These symptoms were quite unpleasant. I decided to stop taking the medication for a few days, and thankfully, the symptoms disappeared. I cautiously decided to give Alfuzosin another try, but unfortunately, after a few days, the symptoms returned and were even worse than before. It became abundantly clear that this medication was not suitable for me. Given the negative experiences and the adverse effects I encountered, I have chosen to discontinue the use of Alfuzosin altogether."

"I have used Flomax for at least 5 years, the side effects were awful. I started Uroxatral one year ago, and my life changed 100%. This is an excellent medication."

"Sometimes it works well, and other times it doesn't seem to work at all. Very confusing!"

"Although I experienced immediate relief (able to urinate freely), I have experienced low stomach pain almost constantly. I also tire much easier since starting Uroxatral."

"Uroxatral helped my benign prostatic hyperplasia symptoms, but it made me extremely tired."

"Uroxatral seems to work very well. Erections are sometimes difficult, but a small dose of Viagra seems to take care of that problem when it becomes a problem."

"It worked well with the first dose, but the sinus headache, rubbery limb feeling, and upper respiratory scratchiness make it not worth taking."

"Starting using Uroxatral after Flomax made me sick, and let me tell you, within two days I was peeing like a 16-year-old. I'll be using Uroxatral from now on!"

"I used this product but felt tired and feel it also affects my sexual function, that was not an issue before use."

"Very good for urinary symptoms."
