"Switched to Uroxatral after being on Flomax for a couple of months. While Flomax addressed Benign Prostate Hyperplasia issues very well, it had a horrendous effect on my sexual function. I could no longer ejaculate at all and could no longer reach orgasm. Within a few days of being on Uroxatral, those issues are gone and in some ways are better than before being on either medicine. Uroxatral is handling the BPH issues just fine."

"I have only learned of this drug only through reviews/forums. I have been prescribed Flomax for the past 5 years and would only take it as needed. Very disappointed in the two urologists that I have had over the years, as I have told each of them about my side effects, which made me not take Flomax. Thankfully, I have no blood pressure or liver problems. I just had my physical, and all of my blood data is perfect. I don’t notice any described symptoms at all."
"Uroxatral was about as effective for me as Flomax with fewer side effects. It makes me very tired and lightheaded sometimes, but with none of the stuffiness that I had with Flomax, which was a big plus. I'm not rating it higher because it didn't do much for my BPH pain, although urinary flow was much improved. Herbal supplements of quercetin and beta sitosterol still work the best for me."
"Uroxatral saved my bacon for years. Then the generic came out, and twice I tried to switch. All I got was the same side effects, but no positive outcome. So I switched back to the brand name, but that has increased 300% in price since the generic came out. It's as if they know the generic is not as good and that they are the only game in town, so they're up to $20 per pill, and no insurance will cover it, even though the generic simply doesn't work and the other two drugs have more serious side effects."
"I have now used Uroxatral for six months. At first, when taking Uroxatral, I would easily tire and experienced stomach pain much of the day. Now, it seems my body has adjusted to the medicine and I am not as likely to become tired. I still have stomach discomfort but not as severe. One thing I have noticed which concerns me is the fact that Uroxatral seems to wear off easily, and the frequency to use the bathroom has not really disappeared. Overall, the drug seems to work well."

Pain while urinating, urgency, and frequency of urination all increased, along with a lot of difficulty getting started and trying to keep going. On top of that, I experienced rather bad constipation, to boot. All of the above cleared up after going back to terazosin."

"I previously took Finasteride, which effectively slowed the growth of my prostate. However, it also resulted in retrograde ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. In an attempt to find alternative solutions, I tried taking saw palmetto and various other herbs. Then, I gave Alfuzosin a try, taking it every other day. I immediately noticed improvements in my urination stream, as well as better emptying of the bladder. Additionally, my erection, sexual drive, and ejaculation showed improvement. It was a great outcome! Unfortunately, after a few doses of Alfuzosin, I began experiencing heart and gastrointestinal issues, along with difficulty sleeping. These symptoms were quite unpleasant. I decided to stop taking the medication for a few days, and thankfully, the symptoms disappeared. I cautiously decided to give Alfuzosin another try, but unfortunately, after a few days, the symptoms returned and were even worse than before. It became abundantly clear that this medication was not suitable for me. Given the negative experiences and the adverse effects I encountered, I have chosen to discontinue the use of Alfuzosin altogether."
