tingling feet, lower legs, hands, lips, and inside of mouth, loss of appetite and weight loss (10 lbs so far), at first migraine pain but that has gone away, fatigue, confusion, losing train of thought, can't think of words or can't put thoughts into words, difficulty doing complex multi-step tasks, memory problems, apathy, beginning to feel depression and wondering if that's also a side effect
keep track of your side effects and weigh them carefully. 3 years of no sex drive ended my relationship with fiance.
At first I thought it was a miracle I was on 100mg because I could actually stay awake even go back to work, it even helped with depression, although one really bad side effect was that it made having an orgasm extremely difficult. I also was in the beginning of menapause and was still on the birth control pill which I still took religiously, and but got pregnant on Provigil, so I think women REALLY need to be warned about the fact that it does decrease the effects of some birth control. I miscarried the pregnancy.
tinnitis; stinging/shooting pain sensations all over body on skin; headache, total loss of appetite, nausea, very sore achilles tendons, popping shoulder, knee, wrist joints; throat felt 'thick' (not sore, but uncomfortable; almost like it was slightly swollen); definite increase in 'eye floaters'; stinging tongue that gets coated much more quickly then it did previously (possibly changes to my saliva glands?) lots of anxiety (but whether that is due to the side effects or the med itself, I don't know - not that it matters).
I originally went in to a GI Clinic for a simple hemorrhoid banding. The doctor decided to have me try a relatively new medication for constipation—just a pill a day. However she did NOT tell me that the pill was an opioid antagonist, designed to block the effects of one’s opioids for pain, while increasing your bowel moving abilities. It actually throws you into opioid withdrawals! No wonder I was sweating like a stuck pig, and having severe aching and all over body chills, along with nausea and heat intolerance (suddenly couldn’t bear my all-time buddy, My Heating Pad—not even on 1!). It also made my already severe fibromyalgia to flare up. I’m extremely upset that my doctor didn’t explain what this pill was for, and the possible side effects. It was a new clinic and new doctor doing the banding; next time, I’m going to a GI doc in my University Network where all my records are. A little further drive, but my health is worth it.
