I took my first shot a week ago, I haven't had any side effects at all, will update in 4 weeks more. I'm taking the dosage to try to shrunk a large fibroid for surgery.

I have anxiety about taking medicine (don't even take ibuprofen or acetaminophen because I'm scared), so needless to say I was not happy about taking Macrobid. I read all the reviews on several sites, which made me even more afraid. I called my doctor to get a different antibiotic, but she wouldn't switch me. I sucked it up and took my first pill, expecting the worst. I now have one pill left and haven't had any of the side effects that I read about. I have started having an upset stomach today, but I'm not positive if it's from the Macrobid pr something else. I know everyone is different, but I hope this helps make someone out there feel better about trying it, as this med seems to have a bad rap.

The first time I took it everything was fine and my infection went away. The second time I took it(about 10 mths later) I got very painful blisters on my tounge after the first pill. Called my doctor and they told me to continue taking...after the second pill my tounge hurt so bad that I decided to stop taking..blisters went away after about 2 days...found out later that this could have been a very serious and even deadly side effect.

My UTI was not in my kidneys so this pain came directly from taking Cipro. It was horrendous. I didn't even find this website until I was researching online about kidney pain as a side effect of taking Cipro so being a hypochondo was not the issue. I never have side effects with any kind of medicine but I will never take this one again-and next time I will check this website before taking anything ever again-now that I know it exists.

It's an evil drug so many side effects.
