After taking the drug for 7 years, i've suddenly developped diarrhea, nausea, loss of apetite, stomach cramps. I've had these symptoms for 4 weeks and i've just realised it could be side effects from arthotec. The problem is if i stop arthrotec I become paralysed by back pain. Seeing the doctor next week. But not sure if my symptoms are due to the drug as i've been on it for so long with no side effects.

My side effects started very slowly after starting a drug that i fell in love with, after 1 years i had a few episodes of swollen lips that went away after a few hours and the very bad odd headache. After 8 years on this drug I ended up with, a multi nodular goitre, subclinical hyperthyroidism diagnosed with Chronic Fatique syndrome, and now after 18 months since that diagnosis I now have Fructose Malabsorption. My side effects are, fatigue, pins and needles. Dizziness, headaches, stomach upsets, brain fog, lack of concentration, general feeling of being unwell.

Today is my second day to take Prometrium. Yesterday I took it and felt extremely exhausted, but blamed it on my long hard day. Today I am fully rested and ate lunch then took my 200mg prescribed for once a day, and I feel dizzy, out of touch with reality and so exhausted I could go back to bed and sleep all day. I am having a hard time focusing on my household chores and feel groggy, and very weak. I will continue the medicine for a few days, as today is Saturday. If I still feel this way on Monday, I will call my dr and report my side effects. I also feel swelling in my hands and feet but weakness and exhaustion sum up the side effects. I feel as if I am wasted drunk, nothing is making much sense. I am not happy with the medicine so far.. but will give it until Monday.

None of these side effects are listed by the drug company and doctors are quite unaware based on the paltry case reports published.

My 6yr old daughter had problems last spring with vaginal irritation and discomfort when urinating. We took her to the pediatrician 3 x's and a Gyn and they came up with nothing. This spring, same problem - went online and found this site stating some females had similar problems w/Claritan. I called Pfizer this morning and they told me that skin irritation is side effect of med(which they included her problem as part of that side effect). Incidentally, 4 yr old son had strange rash on face after starting Zyrtec, maybe is related to med as well?
