Impossible to really rate it! Femara has saved my life (in remission with stage IV breast cancer for four years and counting on Femara after Avastin/Taxol Chemo and radiation). At the same time it has made my life miserable, that is, if it is truly the cause of all of these problems. Most are simply the inevitable result of menopause, but I do attribute the severity of the problems to the use of Femara (along with Zometa). Unbelievably none of my doctors seem to understand how bad and life limiting the side effects are, and give me little support in that regard. Quite frankly they don't even seem to realize that Femara is the cause of many of these symptoms, which is clear to me even more now that I read all your posts! Mostly the docs make me feel like a hypochondriac for complaining. Hooked on methadone for pain now, no matter how hard I try to do without...Bottom line, I'm still here....but not enjoying much of the time I have left! I would love to take a Femara vacation, but at what cost? Please share any of your thoughts on methods to alleviate side effects. Good luck to us all!

It lower my blood pressure, no cough as side effect. I don't drink or smoke, active life.

My problem may not be as severe as others. We like a lot of foreplay, at least 1.5hr and especially oral, and I usually have no problem getting an erection, but lately this would soften as penetration was later attempted. Very frustrating for both.This was my first ever trial. I got my prescription from Lloyds on line...very very expensive but didn't want to risk some illegal copy drug.After reading here about previous reports and advice I cut my first 50mg tablet in half, in case side effects were severe, with the intention of taking the other half later if no effect.I ignored advice about taking on empty stomach, because we usually have sex after an evening meal, with some beer or wine.( I did however only have a small beer this time knowing it could nullify effect).Knowing our routine, I took half a 50mg tablet 20 min after chinese meal, which would hopefully kick in about 1.5hr later. I love this med. BP was 140/90 now stays around 135/74 The nausea has been slight, more of a not hungry feeling - hence the weight loss. I'm also taking lexapro for depression and anxiety medicine as needed. Tried Diovan first and had terrible side effects - as others have listed here.

Have had few side effects compared to other narcotic pain meds. Need to take stool softeners to keep from constipation. Does cause dry mouth so need to drink more often and suck on hard candy. Sometimes get abdominal pain after taking it.
