Only took Prednisone for 7 weeks so the side effects weren't too horrific. Calmed the UC flare-up. Doctor's recommendation was to take it first thing in the morning to coincide with the body's natural release of cortisol. To counteract the loss of calcium he also suggested taking Calcium (1500 units elemental - 500 three times a day with breakfast, lunch and dinner) and Vitamin D (800 units - 400 twice a day with breakfast and dinner). I also take a Vitamin B & C supplement which helps balance the nerves and speed healing.

I am surprised at all the side effects on the web site.This drug seems fine with me!!!!

I didn't have side effects when I took a lower dose of cymbalta, but once I switched to 60 mgs -- and stopped taking remeron, my old drug-- all the awful side effects started. I would wake up every night (literally. Even when I attempted taking some sort of sleep medication to help) at around 6 or 7 30, then not be able to fall back asleep for a good hour and a half to two hours. It was incredibly irritating and caused a lot of exhaustion on my part. I also noticed a pretty major decrease in my appetite-- this paired with my use of (prescribed) adderal meant I wasn't eating EVER-- had trouble achieving orgasm during intercourse (it took forever, absolutely forever), and towards the end, even had spots in my vision/blurred vision. The worst was that I loved how this drug made me feel mentally-- I really did-- but I just couldn't stand the physical side effects. I am sensitive to EVERY medication, and always get the weirdest side effects. I liked Concerta ok for my ADD, but the side effects were not worth it. I was constantly bloated and my digestion was not good while on this medication. When I increased my dose from 36mg to 54mg, the digestive distress increased and I developed a major fungal infection. Had to take Diflucan to combat it. My voice was also getting more hoarse. I recommend the medication because of the effectiveness of keeping me focused, but could not tolerate the side effects.
