"This med really aggravated my IBS and I certainly wouldn't recommend that anyone with this condition take it. I experienced terrible bloating and severe gas pains (like IBS on steroids) and eventually diarrhea. "Have used this frequently, often in conjunction with a PPI, for chronic and erosive gastritis. It has helped. I have had no negative side effects. The only problem with this med is tachyphylaxis (it loses its effect fairly quickly if taken a number of days in a row), so I use it intermittently when the PPI is not doing the job, or when I am not on a PPI and have a flare up, it acts very quickly."
