My husband and I were both put on low dose of lipitor by our GP (our chol was very high but we have no other risk factors) By day 10 we both came down with stomach pain (upper abdominal), headaches, and overall ill feeling. We thought it may be food poisoning. My husbands pain was so severe we canceled a pre paid vacation to New Orleans and went in to see the doctor- he dismissed his symptoms (no fever, etc.) and ordered an ultra sound. We left the office and almost drove immediately to the ER, as my husband was in so much despair. We decided to give it one more day, so he is taking heavy doses of pain meds. I ran across this website and now know our symptoms are from the lipitor!! We are stopping today, still can't decide if I need to take him to the ER or not? He is miserable!! I hope the side effects are quick to subside. Thanks to everyone who has shed light on this!

I didn't realize Zocor caused such severe side effects.Because of all the symptoms just suddenly appearing, I have just underwent extensive testing for MS. I still have to see the Neurologist. I'm praying that it is the Zocor causing everything. My doctor took me off Zocor for a couple of weeks and just put me back on for a week to see if the side effects return. I started feeling nauseated and extremely tired almost immediately. I now have the weekness in my legs back.

Lowered anxiety significantly, however the XR made me feel foggy the first few days I took it even though before I had been taking .25mg of regular Xanax 4x day, the same dosage. I can feel it begin to taper off right at about the 12hr mark, but not to the point where I feel like I need to take more. I sleep like a baby, no more restless tossing and kicking around. I feel a little groggy when I wake up but it's an easy side effect to deal with in exchange for the benefit I receive.

I didnt suffer any side effects until my doctor took me off and swiched me to Paxil. The withdrawls were real bad. Everything that should have been a side effect was what I was experiencing as a withdrawl. I had been taking it for 3 yrs before changing to something else and I can really feel the differnce. I feel so much better. The worse thing about this med is how addicting it is.
