I didn't feel any side effects for the first 5 days. On around the 4th night, I did start complaining of a headache, neck pain and lower back pain never making an association to the med. On the 5th day, the pain continued and that night, I started a fever of 101-102. On the 6th day, my fevers were 103 and 104. I was on fire, then would have chills & sweating. Tylenol and Ibuprofen would only get the temp to 102. ON the 7th day, went to the dr., she said I had the flu. I had started with some dots on my body that day that looked like little blood spots under the skin. The dr. and I didn't pay much attention to this. I went home and that night, the fever was up to 104 again and those dots started to raise into bumps feeling both itchy and hurt like a prickly bush. I felt terrible in my skin. I was taking this medication for about 1.5 yrs before I realized what was causing the problems. I am 5'6" and when I started to take Lyrica in 2006 I weighed about 128lbs. I reached a peak of 187lbs in Jan '09. At that time I began to reduce the amount I took. I have so far, with 3-5 day per week workouts and drastic dietary habit changes, reduced that to 164lbs. I am astounded to read that the company thinks the side effects are Low. Come on, put Lyrica in browser search and you will find so many negative comments that it seems unlikely they don't know. The medicine does work a little to reduce some pain, but with the side effects, it gives more problems. Do not take this poison. I only hope that now that I have totally weaned myself off, I will be able to reduce the weight further and don't have any long term problems from taking this.

Doesn't work. Causes me to have anxiety, elevated heart rate, jumpiness, wired feeling, and certainly not tired. Benadryl works much better. In addition, Benadryl is a very good muscle relaxer. For me, Ambien = Bad Side Effects Lousy Sleep.

I have had insomnia forever. I have tried a range of sleeping aids. I have tried Ambien and it works but I don't like the drunk and sleep eating side effects it had on me. I have tried Trazadone, Remeron, and even Nyquil and Benadryl, but the diphenhydramine in those drugs had a paradoxial effect and made me more wired then anything. My doc said that Trazadone and Remeron act simlarly to Benadryl (diphenhydramine). So even OTC drugs like Nyquil and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) did not work for me. I have even tried natural sleep aids like Kava Kava, Valerian Root, and Melatonin, which just weren't potent enough for me.

This is the first time I've been on the pill and I have been on it for 6 days now. After the third day I started feeling the side effects. I feel like throwing up all the time. I'm always either hungry, nauseated, or sleepy. All I want to do is eat or lay around and I'm not as happy as I was before. I've been feeling low and acting like a jerk. I thought I could wait a little while to see if the side effects would seize, but I don't want to feel like this every day and I'm afraid of gaining weight. I'm going to call my Doctor first thing Monday morning about switching!
