I LOVE Lexapro. I was depressed and crying almost every day, and within a week of starting Lexapro, it was like night and day. Much more stable, no more crying, lots of energy, very positive. I have however begun breaking out in hives after 3 months of use, and I don't know if it's connected to Lexapro or just stress. No matter the side effects, I am very happy with this drug. I've been on and off meds for 15 years. I've tried Zoloft, Nortriptyline, and Effexor, and Lexapro has by far the least troublesome side effects and works the best for me, surprisingly so.

I was unaware of any of the side effects of yasmin until I tried to come off it last month. As a teenager I suffered from mild spots bit hated them so much I went on to dianette, after being on dianette for some 7 years I decided to change due to the worries about it. I went on to Yasmin and my skin continued to stay fairly clear. I've always had oily skin and hair but since trying to come off of Yasmin I am having bad the worst outbreak of spots (some of which are painful and itchy) I've ever had along with the oiliest hair and skin which is unbearable!! My hair is fully greasy after about 8 hours of being washed...looks like it hasn't been washed for days only 8 hours after being washed!! I googled for oily hair and spots after stopping taking the pill and came across all these posts about Yasmin, I then realised that all the pins and needles, numbness, mood swings etc that I was experiencing was down to Yasmin! I have been back on Yasmin for two weeks and there's no change in my awful skin and hair...I'm worried I'll never be able toCome off f it if it means greasy hair and spots forever it's unbearable!!!

I took Yasmin for 2 years purely for my pcos symptoms and acne (this was before I was having regular sex. I didnt notice any major side effects apart from weight gain and increase in breast size. It really cleared up my skin and I had regular periods for the first time ever! I was pleased with taking it! I then went on to Leostrin which I wasnt happy with as often had break through bleeding and my acne came back. I did lose weight but I think this was more due to life style changes rather than the pill. I am now back on Yasmin but have had a few issues, I have had several UTI and yeast infections, but these have conincided with starting to have regular sex - which might be the reason also. Overall I have to say I am going to stick with Yasmin for more than a year (as most pills dont start working fully until you have been working for a year! So if like some of you, you have only been on it for a month, you haven't been on it for long enough). The problem is I'm not sure what else I would go on that would meet all my needs. Every pill/medication has side effects you just have to weight the benefits and costs.

No weight loss or gain, no agitation or other typical side effects. Starting and dose increases caused sleepiness during the day for a week which is odd because my night sleep became interrupted, hence my question about the cause of interrupted sleep.

On the 3M website it gives no indication of the side effects of the medicine. It should state what to expect so a person does not think that they are crazy or there is something worse happening to them.
