For Schizophrenia "Can't play sports anymore on med. Can't think straight. Constantly tired. Don't even have enough drive to bathe myself. This drug suppresses me in all aspects. The schizophrenia isn't even that bad in comparison to this. It's torture being on this. One day society will see how bad we were mistreated."
For Schizophrenia "I've been on this injection for nearly 3 years. At first, it seemed like it wasn't working, and after going off my medications once before, I didn't find that there was much of a change. But after 3 months or so, I started sleeping at night peacefully without the constant confusion and voices in my head. I also had started doing a better job at work and was able to focus on doing simple tasks, which then seemed impossible."
For Schizophrenia "This medicine, although it has to be administered by IM every 2 weeks, has been wonderful. I've been on it almost 2 years now. My husband gives me my injections at home. I don't even think I have experienced any side effects. I am more focused and relaxed and not as flat."
For Bipolar Disorder "Again a terrible tragedy that I was subjected to this drug against my will because of a temporary behavioral anomaly. After a month of taking became very hallow and unbelievably slow, especially at tasks such as reading, thinking, and communicating. Periodically had some sort of dyskinesia and felt like all the memory was being sucked out of me and I would have to get stuck in a weird transition state . It was a very frightening and terrible experience, as if I could not take care of myself. The only way to get rid of that catatonia was to take sedatives and sleep it off. I am not sure how to label this symptom, but I will guess the most appropriate labelling would be either catatonia or severe delirium with dyskinesia. The symptom disappeared after 6 months of not taking this medicine."
For Schizophrenia "I have been on Risperdal Consta for over two years now and find it to be a lifesaver. I feel like I have my life back in order and my mind back in order. The only side effects I have experienced are decreased sex drive and weight gain."
For Schizophrenia "I don't have a problem on ripsedal consta except in Canada it is being discontinue and that is causing me stress. I have been taking risperdal consta for the past 12 years and it has been working miracles for me! I don't even have a weight gain issues but we regularly exercise/work and take supplements!"
For Schizophrenia "I believe after taking this, I stopping thinking well. I took it as an injection. It caused some sort of anxiety and made me think of my past. It cleared up some parts of thinking but after the Dr. prescribed this, I can't tell if it left permanent damage."
For Bipolar Disorder "I've been on this 8 months it seems okay took the pyschotic syptoms away but gettting palputations, body temprature issues too hot and too cold, eating a lot more, slowed my metabolism down, insomnia and flu type symptoms. I do feel 80% better than what I did just constant worry about possble side effects"
For Bipolar Disorder "Worst experience on this drug!! Developed sciatica, gained fifty pounds on it and had my first gallstones flare up on it. Was on it for about six months. Beware!! Make sure whomever injects knows how to do it. Was in pain from the sciatica for about a year after discontinuing the drug."
For Schizophrenia "Risperdal Consta is pretty good. I've been on it for a year and two months and I think it's much better than Invega sustenna by far. Risperdal makes me calm, focused, and maybe even energized but in a very in control of myself way."
For Schizophrenia "From the first day of the injection I've noticed I've been able to complete tasks that might have seemed so big in the past. I am feeling calm living in the present and not feeling worried anymore. I've been able to take the the time and get tasks done. It seems like this was the right choice of medicine."
For Schizophrenia "I found this drug had a very good effect. The only letdown is it makes you put on weight."
For Schizophrenia "This anti-psychotic is a lot better than the original Risperdal. It has less side effects. I have been on this for 6 months and it has eliminated the voices and paranoia."
For Bipolar Disorder "Causes dizziness, makes me light headed, unable to think, gives me feeling of discouragement. Literally the worst drug ever."
