The psychiatrist said that it would be a better version of Celexa (Citalopram) and that it would be more stimulating and no weight gain and less sexual side effects. Absolutely not true. A little less sedation yes, she add Wellbutrin XL 300 mg and I was already on Concerta 54 mg. With the Wellbutrin, I was doing better but I was still sleeping 12-14 h per day and could not go back to work. My life was hell, I had anhedonia and I had to go see another specialist to get another treatment because she didn't want to give me something else than Celexa, Seroquel or Lexapro and Wellbutrin. The other DR said that there's no point if I cant go back to work, so he gave me Pristiq. After one week I was full of life, energy and out of the depression.

If traditional SSRI's have not worked for you this medication could be helpful, but do understand that there are side effects with any drug. Go off of it slowly tapering your dose. Also, know that medication alone rarely helps depression long term. You also need life style changes and usually, talk therapy.

Injection site reactions - redness, lumps, itching. Some mild hair loss after about 2 months, which lasted about 2 months. All side effects cleared up after time.

I have taken this pill for 5 months now,at first i had no side effects but now i wake up in the middle of the night with my body covered in sweat. I get this sick feeling without warning in the middle of the day,cramping stomach,nausea and headaches.I am scared of this pill now

I used to be able to take Diflucan without any side effects. Apparently my body chemistry had changed. The side effects are frightnening and I wish I knew of an antidote for the reaction I am having.
