For Cluster Headaches "My neurologist put me on just about every preventative medicine on the market, and none helped stop my clusters. A high dose of Verapamil ER finally did the trick (240 mg 3x a day). After almost 25 years of episodic cluster headaches, I have finally been virtually headache-free for about 3 years now! I am a bit worried about the side effects of taking such a high dose for such an extended time, though. I've recently been having some voice issues, and I'm wondering if there is a correlation."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been on Verapamil 200 mg ER for two months. Recently, I started getting palpitations, feeling dizzy, skipped beats, and fluttering and coughing sensation in my throat area and slow HB. I called my doctor and lowered my dose to 100 mg and he scheduled me for a halter monitor to see if it’s the medication. I am hoping it is and maybe he can switch me back to toprol xr."

During the three months I was on Lupron I experienced horrible side affects. The doctor told me they would significantly improve after the first month, however after three months things were still very bad. The effects of Lupron made it very hard for me to get through everyday activities. Rather then forgoing the full 6 months of the drug that was suggested by my doctor, I ended my treatment at 3. I still have pain from the endometriosis but I would much rather deal with that as opposed to still be experiencing the side effects of Lupron.

I have taken Macrobid twice before in the last 4 months for UTIs and thought it worked really well, with no apparent side effects. For that reason, I didn't suspect the connection this time. Only when the symtoms persisted and got worse did I start looking for possible connections. I was shocked to see my very symptoms listed again and again by others. I have never been allergic to any medications in the past, and was feeling very well the day before, completing a 6.5 mile hike with lots of energy. I ended up having to cancel a scheduled surgery due to the fever, and the original urine culture came back negative for a UTI. My husband and others I'd been around never had any symptoms.

All side effects (except libido) disappeared after about 2 weeks, so far so good

The appetite loss has been the most severe side effect (which I dont mind, I've lost 5 pounds so far), but the other side effects are eliminated completely by exercising immediately after taking the pill. I'm fortunate that I was already working out regularly before taking this medication, but I strongly recommend trying to exercise (even walking) if one were struggling with side effects. It works for me. The drug seems to be clearing my mind as I increase the dosages (started at 25 mg, then 50, etc.). I played the violin when I was young and at a very definite point about 10 years ago seemed to lose my ability. Luckily I kept my violin because I seem to have picked up where I left off 10 years ago! Could be coincidental? Feel free to email me.

Klonopin can cause the following side effects: Increased hunger and thirst; drowsiness (occasionally) and sometimes dizziness if I get up too quick from a sitting/lying position. If too much Klonopin is taken, the patient may feel detached from his/her body.
