Euthyrox Drug and Medication User Reviews

Walmart switched the brand that I had been taking to euthyrox... after several months of taking euthyrox at the same dosage I had been taking, all the usual symptoms returned and my TSH skyrocketed to 18.500. Stay away from this brand

This is the only brand that works for me. I have no side effects from it. My dose is 75micrograms. I wish they would make one in 75 because i have to take 2 pills each morning~ one of 25 and another of 50 so price is double for me. But it is a lifesaver and works amazing for me. I feel normal and not sick like before.

Stay far away from this new thyroid poison pill from Germany! I’ve been taking Levothyroxin for 15 years, and Wal-Mart Pharmacy switched me to this junk out of nowhere. I just trusted the Pharmacist, (said it was all the same) and started taking it. 6 months in, I am a wreck. Thyroid levels way off, severe heart palpitations, anxiety, depression, blood pressure sky rocketed, insomnia, zero appetite, major constipation, and occasional migraines and headaches. DON’T LET THE PHARMACY DICTATE WHAT YOU TAKE! TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE ANY MED CHANGES! I blindly assumed all thyroid medicines are the same. They are not! Euthyrox needs to be banned. Period. I haven’t taken it in 4 days, and i feel much better, but I need my regular thyroid meds. I see my doctor tomorrow to work this out and get back to my old meds and God willing, my old self. Good luck to all of you in your health.

My thyroid dropped down so low and I had brain fog and my kidneys started acting up. I got dark circles at the bottom of my eyes and had skin peeling The Euthorox Walmart switched me to was horrible . I didn't understand why my thyroid levels dropped so low. I called Walmart and asked them to put me back on leverthyroid but they said that was all they could get. I moved my precriptions to Publix and I have been back on leverthyroid for three days and I am starting to feel better. I would not recommend Euthorox to no one after my experience.

I was perfectly fine on the old formula, no side effects. The new formula has ruined my life all because these pharmacists want more money !!!! Hair loss, infertility, Nausea, stomach burns. Even when swallowing the new pill I feel it burning all the way down. How can pharmacists do this to people ?!?!?

Lower thyroid levels than normal, heart palpitations came back, extreme hair loss, fatigue, facial skin rash, low grade fevers, feeling cold, histamine issues which never started until I began taking Euthyrox.

Substituted by my Wal-Mart pharmacy. 6 weeks in and I thought I was going crazy. Brain fog, no concentration and it oddly enough affected my prostate. Went back to Levothyoxrine and by day 2 felt normal again.

6 months ago Walmart pharmacy changed my levothyroxine to Euthyrox. I questioned the pharmacist and was told it’s the same thing. I ended up in the ER with critically low thyroid. That would explain the weight gain, insomnia, headaches and more. Shame on Walmart. They must have made a good deal with this drug company, not caring that I was on the brink of death. How do we get this drug off the market and make them responsible for messing with peoples lives?

How evil is this? How evil-mart switched my med brand ? They don’t care how dangerous doing this was . Your thyroid controls your major organs, you don’t mess around with someone’s life like this!! Evil Walmart substituted my levothyroxine with this crap! I was unknowingly taking this for at least 10 months , never realized that my med was switched to this poison. 6 months later I started losing my appetite, irritable, depression . Heart palpitations..The side effects continued to get worse month to month..As well as dull and loss of hair falling out like snow root & all. Hair was everywhere, my sink, my bathtub, on the back of my toilet seat, all my floors, in my food clothing, car, even underneath my pillow protecters.my vacuum clearer’s beater brush full of my hair , I even vacuumed every 3-4 days to keep track of all of the loss..I wad very emotional, I had major brain fog , I was crying more frequently, both my heart/ pulse were up & down..Irregular heartbeat , I sometimes could feel my heat beat , Disrupted sleep every night That poison had me waking up every 2 hrs . I finally called my doctors told him about all my side effects , so to be on the safe side he even put me on the name brand thyroid med “Synthroid” signed it as dispense as written, meaning no substitutes..My heart palpitations are far & few and in between now, I been on my “Synthroid “ for 2 months now , I just had blood work a few days ago & TSH levels came out within normal ..Please what ever u do if you are on the genetic brand of a thyroid med , make sure you check your refill bottles every time. Because if you are on a generic brand the drug stores can replace it with any other generic legally? Without notifying you of the change. I now pay $47 a month for my name brand Synthroid.. It may be a lot of money but my life is more important then the money. Besides after going through all I did , I never ever want to feel as badly as I did . Oh 2 more things I would like to mention.Did u know the difference between generic & name brand other then the price? When it comes to the dosage the generic brand varies , it’s not consistent with the dosage each & every time you refill .. Did you know that it’s recommended that once you are on a brand of Thyroid med it’s not recommended that you change brands? Of course unless one of them is not working well with your body..Well wishes & God Bless

New modified euthyrox made in germany..is not suited with me,, while older version was very good for me..now taking new improved euthyrox made me exhausted,, decreased metabolic rate..lose appetite... Digestive system not working..

I was on synthroid for years for hypothyroidism with no issues. Started euthyrox in October of 2020. Suggested by my doctor, told it was the same but less expensive. Took my self to the er in February. Heart palpitations, felt like i was jumping out of my skin, unable to focus on anything, extreme anxiety, dizziness, blurred vision, ridges on my nails, hair loss, basically felt like i was going to die! All tests at er were normal. Went back to endocrinologist and turns out i was having hyperthyroidism symptoms! Now going on a month cold turkey and i finally feel like myself again. Oh, and my t3 and t4 free tests were high. Going back to doc next month for bloodwork and i imagine starting on a low dose of synthroid. Wish I would have found this page earlier. Euthyrox should be banned!

WalMart pharmacy switched to this brand and within a couple weeks my thyroid levels dropped so low my doctor had to increase the dosage which didn't help much until I requested to be switched back to a different brand of levothyroxine.

I LOVE EUTHYROX! I have NO thyroid gland since a total thyroidectomy 19 years ago. Working with several docs & trying different thyroid replacement strategies for a few years, I finally settled on a routine that worked very well for 15 years. I took Levoxyl 75mcg and Levoxyl 88mcg on alternate days, PLUS 1/4 grain of Armour daily. About three years ago, things began to change. I began having fatigue & depression, yet my blood work remained "normal". I had heard that Levoxyl sometimes is recalled for potency issues, so I decided to try another brand. I switched to Euthyrox. The very next day I felt better than I had for quite some time. I ?? this stuff! I'm finding that 75mcg of Euthyrox daily works better than my previous 75/88 alternating schedule. I still take one little 1/4 gr tablet of Armour daily. According to several doctors and some small clinical trials, hypothyroid patients report feeling better on a combo of synthetic & natural thyroid. It is assumed that natural thyroid contains a broader spectrum of thyroid hormones & co-factors that enhance synthetic thyroid bioavailability. Based on my experience, I believe it. I've only taken Euthyrox for a few weeks. Things may change over time.

When Walmart pharmacy switched me to this medicine- in 4 months time every joint in my body hurt. It was hard for me to walk, work, stay awake. For some reason this medicine at the same dose did not work for me. My thyroid level went to 3, I feel my best at 1.5. Feel like I was thrown out of a moving vehicle. Called the doctor and talked to pharmacist-Put me back on the old levothyroxine at once....

I had been on levothyroxine approximately 15 years or more with no problems and Walmart out of the blue decided to change it on me with euthryox. When I questioned them they said because it had a better shelf life. I've been having lots of problems including neuropathy. I told my doctor that maybe all of this that's been going on has to do with Walmart switching my prescription and she never even heard of this brand and she was surprised because she said that she didn't write it for that. So she wrote me my regular prescription and wrote not to give any substitutes. Well I got my prescription and I brought it home and when I opened it up. It was a different color pill then what I've been taking before. I noticed that on the label it said alv. My old label said s a n so I did some research and they gave me alvogen brand versus sandoz. When I was waiting for this prescription cuz they said that I had to order it I said yeah cuz I want to go back to my old brand because it was switched by you guys about a year and 3 months ago and I need to go back to my old brand. I was very surprised I didn't get my old brand. I will be calling Walmart tomorrow. It seems like Walmart has done that with a lot of people that have been thyroid deficient and giving them this substitute without doctors approval. Why would Walmart do that. Only thing I can think of is dollars.

Felt horrible, bad sweating, worse body odor, vision problems, hair falling out, headaches! Was only on it for 5 weeks! Been on Levothyroxine for years had no problems. Walmart switched brands and gave me this garbage!

I have been taking this for about a year since WalMart changed from Levothyroxine without letting me know. I questioned it and was told it's the same drug. Well I started gaining weight in leaps and bounds and I was blaming it on my Arimidex (cancer meds) but I got off of it and back on my old meds and I don't feel like I'm constantly bloated and loosing weight. It had to be this drug.

My pharmacy continuously changes my synthroid to euthyrox and every single time they do I end up having my hormone levels so thrown off my doctor has to up my dosage. I do best on synthroid, and am okay on levothyroxine, but within weeks of going on euthyrox I develop black circles under my eyes, Insomnia, brain fog, extreme exhaustion, and I start gaining weight again. It may work for some people however every time my pharmacy has switched me it has done nothing but damage to my body.

I was on Levothyroxine before. The dosage had gradually increased over the years until I was at 137 mcg. About 8 months ago, the pharmacy switched me to Euthyrox. 3 months later, my blood test showed that my TSH was low at .2. My doc dropped my dosage to 125 mcg. My test a few days ago shows another drop to .06, very low. I'll see the doc next week. It can't be the same as Levothyroxin.
