Good thing that my drug-happy doc switched me from 8 mg Avandia to 45 mg Actos, or I never would have realized how these drugs were ruining my life. I had been suffering for two years on Avandia (without realizing that I was suffering side effects) because my doc thought that a 120 blood sugar reading was too high and switched to Actos due to concerns regarding heart damage. The aches and pains that I had experienced for two years suddenly got much worse and I put on 10 pounds in a month - I'm not overweight and previously my weight was very stable. Hungry and eating all the time. Felt terrible and had no energy. Thought that it was all from aging. Stopped Actos four weeks ago after reading this website and FELT IMMEDIATE RELIEF. When I woke up the next morning, I thought that I was 10 years younger. Went to work on diet and exercise and dropped 20 pounds. Blood sugar is at 90. NO PAINS, LOTS OF ENERGY. This drug can have extremely powerful side effects.

Aside from boards like this one describing personal experiences, I could not find information about extreme adverse reactions like mine online -- EXCEPT for case reports where people took benzos, drank alcohol, or otherwise did stuff totally contraindicated. I did none of those things -- and did everything according to the doctor's orders and the patient information on Suboxone -- and yet felt like I was going to die. I have chronic pain and depression, and my psychiatrist (I'm in treatment for depression) said Suboxone would be a way to control the pain without the neurotransmitter side effects of the oxycodone (1-3 tabs per day) that I have been taking for a couple of years. My depression is better but not completely resolved, and my psychiatrist thought my oxycodone use might be playing a role in that. By comparison, he said your brain cannot down-regulate your neurotransmitters in reaction to Suboxone treatment like it can with regular opiates.I don't know if there's any way to know whether you'll be in agony like me, versus helped like other patients, but this seems related to a horrible experience I had with Stadol spray once, which is also apparently a long-term opiate. I also have a bad "dystonic" reaction to Reglan and compazine (anti-nausea drugs). Also, I was very nauseous and tired with both my pregnancies throughout term and am motion-sensitive/get sick easily on rides, in cars, etc. My doc said the nausea area in the brain is close to the par

Did help with burning in throat and chest though. Not worth it, side effects are awful.

Took for thirty days and intermittently quit smoking after the 40th day I had quit. I am now two months tobacco free. However, my side effects included lucid dreams, insomnia, and constipation which has continued even after I discontinued use.

This medication was added to Lexapro and Ritalin. The side effects were unbearable and I had no choice but to discontinue after only 10 days. I may have stopped too soon but I couldn't endure another day. This stuff was awful and made me feel worse which I didn't think was possible. Never again.
