"I have hereditary high cholesterol and have taken statins on and off since I was 15 years old. My overall cholesterol at age 15 was 370. It has run as high as 460 when I wasn't taking a statin (usually Lipitor). Problem is my bowels stay messed up. I stay constipated all the time, and I suffer from anal leakage, which is highly embarrassing, and I feel like I'm constantly thinking I may smell bad. I keep baby wipes to try to keep myself clean without taking 3 showers a day. Do all statins cause this? I'm finding it harder and harder to accept and feel like just quitting statins altogether. I know that sounds foolish, but so does anal leakage."

Unbelievable flushing and itching! I thought I was on fire! Like the worst sunburn I have ever had! I took the 81mg asprin and ate something with it and did everything like the directions said and tried everything others had tried. I quit! I cannot stand the side effects. If you can stand the side effects, go for it, but I couldn’t recommend this drug for anyone!

Originally went on Wellbutrin after displeasure with Paxil's debilitating nausea from a missed dose, also motivated by low energy and difficulty focusing. The came the initial side effects. After begging my dr, was put back on paxil (but on lower dose), and started taking trazadone, which really has helped me sleep through the night (although I wake, I usually doze back off very quickly). I eventually reduced the dose, because I couldn't remember to regularly take an afternoon dose. I'm not sure that this drug has helped substantially.

After five yeras of Tamoxifen switched to Femara. Hot flashes better but other side effect more severe.

I was thinking for months that I was gaing weight in my stomach area and no-where else. It seemed like no matter how little I ate, or how much I exercised my stomach remained bloated. But after a week of being off of the Claritn-D, before I could get my next refill, it all went away and my stomach went back to it's original flatness. I decided to even test it, and go back on it to see it my stomach would bloat again, and it did! Although it did seem to help itchy eyes, nose and throat, to me, it is definately NOT worth the side effects.

Perhaps my body is unique, and these side effects probably would not be as severe with other women.
