Dry mouth first couple of days. Maybe slight headache occasionally. I don't know about any sexual side effects yet. I have not gained weight yet either. The first couple of days I didn't want to eat much but my appetite has returned. I already had menopausal hot flashes and night sweats so I don't know if they are related to this drug or not, but I'm used to them.

PLEASE REPORT YOUR SIDE EFFECTS TO THE FDA - THAT DRUG SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO CHILDREN!!Here's my statement to FDA Medwatch on the fda.gov website:My 7 year old daughter was prescribed Singulair for asthma, 5mg once daily. After two weeks on the drug she began experiencing sudden and severe side effects - including depression, inconsolable crying, bad thoughts, self-hate, paranoia, anxiety, lack of eye contact, obsessive thoughts, low self-esteem, and fear. We stopped the Singulair after three days of these side effects. Now it's been 4 days since stopping the drug and she's slowly recovering. Furthermore, her Pediatrician agrees that Singulair is to blame for her sudden state. This shouldn't happen to a child; this drug shouldn't be prescribed to children at all. This has been a horrible experience for my daughter and my family.

I am a 42 year old professional, no psyche history of any kind. This drug cleared up my pneumonia in two days, but it induced such horrific side effects that I would never take it again. Anxiety, irrational thoughts, deep depsair, pounding heart, strange dreams, dizziness, weakness, nausea coupled with famished hunger. Never again. It has been 14 days since my last dose, and I am still suffering, although not as bad. I can work and still function, barely.

Side effects weren't severe unless dose was over 10mg. Over 10mg I had bad muscle spasms and seizures. I have had weight gain, trouble sleeping, lessened creativity, depression and a weaker sex drive. Considering how ill I was, it's a fair trade.

If you have bad side effects and the doctor won't listen find a new doctor.
