I developed a full blown UTI 2 days ago and was prescribed macrobid twice a day for 7 days. After taking just 2 doses the UTI symptoms had subsided but I woke up sweating in the night lastnight with one of the worst headaches I've had in a long time. Nevertheless I took my 3rd dose this morning. My head is still pounding and my ears are ringing extrememly loud. I feel tired, a little short of breath, have a decreased appetite and there's also a lump in my throat. After reading all the reviews I'm afraid to take my dosage tonight and may skip it and call my doc in the morning to see what else could be prescribed. I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa drugs. I don't know what else there could be to help me. I've had UTI many times before but can't remember what I took for those. I never had side effects like these.

With all the side effects listed - they are all very mild, and could be attributed to anything. I am happy with the extra 10 lbs, the foot fungus went away, I still have lots of hair - hair tends to thin as you age, I try and get at least 8 hours of sleep, and my man has enough of a sex drive for the both of us! I am planning on going off of it soon because of the bone density scare and the regulate my system, but my doctor swears that is a myth and is encouraging me to stay on the shot (she is a university Dr. and deals with brithcontrol questions as most of her day). All of the comments on this webpage have really startled me - I am almost scared to go off of the shot now.No periods and cramps certainly has its benefits!

Read the side effects and I feel it is not worth it. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol and 60 and I don't feel my doctor took that into effect. Side effects are too scary for me to take Etodolac. I will just use otc medications with less side effects. Why would our government pass a drug like this is beyond me.

Just completed Day 5 and infection is still present - reduced but there. Side effects also included spaced-out feeling, lethargy, insomnia but stomach pains were the worst. Took Zithromax twice before for sinus infection and it worked great - no side effects and felt much better by Day 2. Maybe my body has become resistant to it?

I've been taking glipizide for 1 month after taking glucophage for several months. Glipiide caused less stomach irritation than glucophage. It also helped bring my blood sugar levels from an average of 323 to 173. However I am going to request a different drug because of the side effects.
