In hindsight we wish that my father had never been put on this medication as he suffered so much whilst taking them...We also stopped the statins that my father had been prescribed for years as he had no history of heart problems but we found out that a possible side effect of simvaststin could be memory issues!...We also found out that Aricept can cause all these unwanted side effects because it over-excites the para-sympathetic part of the nervous system which controls glands/excretions etc..hence the watering eyes,runny nose,stomach secretions,urinary/faecal overstimulation....My fathers symptoms started gradualy after the increased dose of 10mg and when we noticed the first symptoms of runny nose,rash and dark urine the doctor just said it might need time to settle down,It didnt settle down, it just got worse until 3 months later we stopped it without seeing the doctor,..After about 7 weeks we felt that the Aricept was finaly leaving his system and he is a much happier and relaxed man now.....We are without doubt that all these side effects came about due to taking Aricept as my father has had excellent health up until then...I wish that the doctors had explained in much more detail about how dangerous this drug is and how drastic it can effect peoples health..... I hope that this information helps someone as I was truly shocked to learn how many people out there have suffered from taking this drug

Ive been on Metronidazole a few times and have never had any serious side effects. Nothing that I didn't feel like I couldn't handle. This time, however, my side effects have shown up with a vengeance, seems like. Im prone to BV, so I get it, maybe twice a year. Ive never had depression or jitters, nor upset stomach or diarrhea, or cramps or irritability or anything mentioned above... But I did this time... I feel really sick. I don't want to go to work. I have not had a complete night's rest since I started taking the meds... Although it's working (always does), Im a little disappointed this time around. Bad batch? I don't know. Maybe its me n my body... Don't know... I just want 2 feel better. In my opinion, its not a bad drug and it works, its probably just not meant for everybody. We have to remember that doctors are PRACTICING medicine... They know what CAN work, but sometimes it doesn't... Its not their fault. They're just practicing, and hoping that what they're practicing works... Im going to finish my course, and hope these side effects dissapear soon after the final pill.

Therapeutic effect great. I feel like a new person. Actually can get through the day with energy and focus.Side effects : not so great. I take my dose at 9 am by 8 pm and I can set my watch by it. The itching starts and it is significant. A generic Zyrtec usually takes care of this but sometimes I have to take two. Arms and eyelids itch the most but generally its all over. No rash. About mid day I get the heart flutters and a split second of panic but it goes away quickly. It is worth it to me because now I can LIVE and not lay in the bed all the time. Nuvigil is great for me with manageable side effects. Thank you to the nurse who gave me a sample I would have never known about this. Top rheumatologist never recommended it. I don't know why? Sometimes specialist are so protocol driven that I think they forget about innovation and critical thinking. Lupus fatigue can't make it through the day? Hang in there is what you get. My PCP rx for me when I told him how great I felt. Thank you for docs who a willing to listen and try something off label with out fear. If I'm willing the specialist should be too!

Took doses ranging from 25 mg to about 250 mg. the initial side effects included feelings of sexual agression, which subsided within a few weeks. Absolutely horrendous physical side effects throughout my middle and high school years. SEVERE fatigue, insane headaches, and sugar issues/extreme hunger.
